What is your opinion on texting? do you text a lot? do you hate it? do you prefer phone calls?

Discuss.

If I need to show someone my genitals, then there is no better way (Hi Annie).

But I do actually quite like texting. Sometimes it's nice to say hi to someone without having to have a proper conversation.

Preferable to talking on phone though I don't really text that much, its sort of becoming a bit redundant when stuff like whatsapp (though I don't use it) and facebook messenger can be just as convenient and get a reply just as quickly

If I'm trying to contact somebody, I'll text, then Facebook, then email before I'd even think about phoning them.

Even if somebody phones me, I'll sit and watch it ringing, then when they've given up ill text them saying "you called?"

I really can't be arsed with small talk on the phone.

Not really much of a texter, prefer a quick phone call which is much easier and quicker. It annoys me when we're in a rush or someones late and a friend will decide to text them to see where they are, ends up just delaying it even longer.

I like it for brief chatting but hate to do a long one, its miles better than a phonecall as phonecalls take too long. Email is still best.

My girl brats fire so many at me and 3/4 at a time that I cant keep up and they never realise that I am fecking driving

I prefer it to actually speaking to people.

This...

I am on the phone all day at work so when I get home I really can't be bothered talking to people on the phone. I rang my brother on his birthday and my Dad nearly fainted when I said I had actually spoken to him as I think that's the first time in years I have spoken rather than texted....I'm such a great sister

Same... although I do have a several long conversations with my nieces during the week. I apparently need to be brought up to speed on the latest stuff. It was Monster High at one point... now it's Zelfs. Although I can pretty much watch the telly while they talk for an hour on which Zelf they're planning to get next and what the middle one is planning to wear for a One Direction concert. Fascinating stuff...

Texing is good when you're meeting up with someone. Rather than the small talk on the phone it's just easier to sort the time and place that way.

Prefer typing on a keyboard. I generally only text my parents on a regular basis; I whatsapp a couple of friends but generally use Facebook to communicate with people
