In an interview, which she has given with Rylan Clark, in Friday 24th May's The Sun she says:

I have a horrible feeling the housemates are going to have access to ipads, facebook, twitter.

"The housemates might be savvy to Big Brother but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re smart!" "When you have a theme like this, you have to be able to think on your feet. I think having a good theme and lots of tasks helps provide lots of content."

Lots of tasks..

"Last year the house was very eco-friendly and budget, whereas this year it will be more stark and clinical."

"Housemates might get to find out a little bit about what people have said about them and we’ve seen in previous series how much that messes with people! So there should be drama."

What brainless people are in charge of this show? I cannot comprehend how they gather around a table and think this is a good idea. I'm not exaggerating when I say I genuinely think I could do their job and improve ratings in one series.

Why does every thread turn into a Bring back BB C4 discussion

imo it doesn't tell us much I think we all knew that it will be based around technology

Guys *IF* it's something like the housemates can tweet and post BUT can not see anything on the internet or do anything else BUT post updates.
Would be interesting.

If Twitter and Facebook are available to housemates, then it really isn't Big Brother anymore is it? Channel 4 know the show inside out. Channel 5 obviously view it as a more secluded TOWIE or Geordie Shore.

first of all it didn't say anything about Twitter and Facebook in use they wouldn't any because it's basically like giving them phones

people have to stop thinking C4 are gods of BB they destroyed BB11 and put no effort into BB10

Yes, social media tends to mean facebook/twitter comments.

No need to be pedantic. Reading social media comments/twitter comments, it's all the same thing and it stinks.

I don't want the housemates trying to second guess their own actions because of something someone on the outside said.

This is a potential series-ruiner.

They obviously were tired of it. A 3/4 year break would do them good from Big Brother, and I'd much rather a C4 BB than a C5 Real Housewives rip off.

Marsh.
24-05-2014, 08:45 PM
Yes, and to be honest the audience were tired too.

The show didn't need moving to another channel, it needed a break.

I wouldn't have minded them holding onto the rights but not making another BB for 3 or 4 years. Ratings would have probably increased and it would have allowed them to go at it with fresh minds. Big Brother belongs on Channel 4!

Yeah, they could've built up interest again if they brought it back this year after it had been off screen since 2010.

I don't understand why everyone's upset about tasks? :suspect:

They've taken over the show, increasingly involve contact with the outside world, and take away from time that could be spent highlighting the housemates' personalities and the house dynamics. Plus the tasks nowadays are nothing compared to what they were on C4.

Marsh.

I undertand not wanting contact with the outside world but tasks are part of the BB experience. Makes no difference.

Tasks have always been a part of BB, but they're completely different today from what they were on C4. Now they have tasks on the daily, constant secret tasks which they hand out to the HMs they want to get more airtime, and they're boring and poorly thought out.

Marsh.

I think having a good theme and lots of tasks helps provide lots of content.

Educated guess based off of 3 years of C5 BB. It means that they will have a bunch of horrible tasks wasting everyone's time.

It's sooo just gonna be excuse for messing with noms and 'guess which hm said this bitchy comment about another hm' I probs wont like it if it;s the same amount of noms twisting in 14

I want it to be like 13, which I loved, good housemates, not constant twists, drama but a better eviction order than 13 and it will be good.

Excitement isn't there now tbh

I keep gaining and losing my excitement. It's so close which is getting me excited but at the same time the majority of statements that have been released are really not interesting me or filling me with confidence.

That would inflate some of the housemate's egos, making them insufferable (See: Wolfy), and would have all the other housemates second guessing themselves and attempting to constantly please the public, meaning nobody is acting like themselves at all.

Im sorry but Channel 4 would never ever have the balls to air that over 18 task in CBB this year. After the race row Channel 4's Big Brothers got more and more tame each series until finally they were putting it on at 8:30 in BB11 and getting away with it because the content was so PG.

That was amazing tv lol Channel 5 have done some pretty brilliant tasks.

In some cases having a PG series is an advantage and can expand viewer demographics, See BBAUS 9-10

Screw expanding viewing demographics I don't want to see a BB which is cencored and watered down. BB is an adult show and that's what I want to watch.

I wanna see people screaming at each other, getting drunk and making fools of themselves, old men telling another housemate to suck his dick whilst wearing pvc lol.

I want total carnage BB5 style not BB11 which was like watching a daytime soap.
