What is the Hotseat?

No, its not a torture chair, its a place for you to get to know your fellow forum members! Once every few days, a member will take their turn on sitting on the Hot Seat. Here, they will put their dignity at risk, and be asked questions that other forum members want to know about them! Of course, the member on the hot seat can choose what questions they can answer, so don't get angry if your question is ignored.

Each few days a new member will face the forum - and prepare to answer your questions! It will last for about 1 month so we'll have about 10 members.

Bengalis are an ethnic group, we didn't have our own sovereign independent state so were spread around S Asia. Once we fought for and won our independence, 'Bangladesh' (which literally means land of the Bengali/Bangla) was established and it's where the majority of Bengalis live today, but some still live in different parts of Asia like West Bengal. The red circle on the official flag is meant to symbolise blood and the lives that were sacrificed in order for Bengalis to get their own homeland. yes but not the official dialect as my parents are from sylhet (it's a city) where it's spoken quite differently. sylheti people are generally looked down upon by people from dhaka (the capital of bangladesh) lol

when I did the Bengali GCSE it was sooo hard lmfao it's like learning another language and sounds way more posh too.
