As someone who wasn't a fan previously, he's really impressed me this era.

'Sing' was a tune

and 'Don't' is so, so, so good.

Ed Sheeran has topped the iTunes sales chart in 65 countries with his new album x.

The singer's second studio collection - pronounced 'multiply' - was released earlier this week and has reached the top spot on digital stores in the UK, US, Australia and Germany.

Sheeran has also reached number one on iTunes stores in Denmark, France, Mexico, Italy, Egypt, Israel, Brazil, Portugal, Spain and South Africa.

The new album features his hit single 'Sing', along with new tracks 'Don't', 'One' and 'I'm A Mess'.

Sheeran dominated the UK iTunes songs chart last week after releasing a new track everyday in the run-up to his new album. At one point he occupied eight spots on the Top 10 best-selling songs chart.

The star will play the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this weekend (Sunday, June 29), three years after performing on the BBC Introducing Stage at the festival back in 2011

And '+' is selling well too.

Ed Sheeran has scored his first US Number One with his new album x.

The singer/songwriter sold 210,000 sold in the week ending June 29. His sales also mean he has the fourth biggest selling album in the US this year.

Coldplay's Ghost Stories is the biggest-selling album of 2014 so far with 383,000 copies, followed by Eric Church's The Outsiders with 288,000.

Brantley Gilbert's Just As I Am is currently third with sales of 211,000.

Sheeran has also claimed the largest sales week for a British male artist in almost a decade. In 2004, Rod Stewart's album Stardust … The Great American Songbook Vol. III sold 240,000 copies.

His debut album + peaked at Number 5 on the Billboard 200, selling 42,000 copies in its first week on release. It has sold 841,000 copies in total.

Sheeran recently became the fastest-selling artist in the UK, when x sold more than 182,000 copies in just seven days.

I thought + was good but not great, but this on the otherhand is excellent.

Thinking Out Loud is probably my favourite, and the songs about Ellie Goulding and Nina Nesbitt (Don't & Nina).

Over on the albums chart, Ed Sheeran is holding firmly onto his number one place. The singer's x is currently enjoying the longest consecutive run since Adele's 21 clocked up 11 weeks in the chart back in 2011.
