1. It’s all about the POWER
A show insider told OK! Online: “This year, we wanted to really focus on what Big Brother is essentially about – power and control. We want to offer it to individuals, half the house, and even the viewers.”
The source added that different people – or groups of people – will be able to win power and use it to manipulate the house in a way that “only Big Brother has done in the past”.
We like.

2. The housemates will still be cut off from the outside world – but not all the time
“The house will always be a secure bubble but housemates can receive info from the outside world when BB sees fit,” said our mole.
“Big Brother will use technology to his advantage.”

3. It’s Hunger Games-meets-Minority Report
Emma Willis told OK! Online that the house will be "modern, with futuristic clean lines and technology. We've just seen pics and it's a bit like Minority Report”.
Both she and Rylan agreed that the show will also feel a bit Hunger Games.
“But without the death,” added Emma, helpfully.

4. There may be tablets and other gadgets in the house
“Power is knowledge, so there will be knowledge aids,” hinted our source. “We want to open up the house more than we have done in the past.”

5. The house is going to send its residents crazy
“I’ve seen pictures of the house and it’s very clinical,” admitted Rylan. “This house is very futuristic, very technical, so it keeps you on your toes because there's always something to look at, feel and touch.”

6. It’ll still be good old BB
The insider reassured OK! Online that show bosses won’t be “reinventing the wheel".
“The housemates won’t be a bunch of boffins just because there’s some gadgets in there,” said the source.
“They’ll still be typical Big Brother housemates from all walks of life."

7. The house has more surprises in store
"There are nooks and crannies and surprising elements to the house that will reveal themselves," promised our spy.

It actually sounds good imo, I'm looking forward to it. I don't mind the outside world stuff, still entertaining for me! Can't wait.

Let's face it, as much as it annoys people, it isn't the same show it was when I started. It's evolved. As long as the contact with the outside world serves as a means to mess with the housemates, I'm fine with that.

They may mean contact with the outside world as in what happened in Big Brother Canada this year when they had to give something up to spend minutes with a relative in a secret room.

That is more of a one off thing though.. this sounds more like something that will last the duration of the show.

If housemates have access to social media i'm gonna be pissed off. When they say use technology, i hope they mean things that don't allow access to the outside. E.G iPods and Kindles ect (which still would be sh*t)

Of course it'll be social media.. reading books on a kindle isn't much of a twist

Why does this always happen now, they come out with a perfect eye most gets excited then right at the last hurdle they pull out a stinker of an idea for a BIGGER AND BETTER BB THAN EVER BEFORE.

King Gizzard

cause they can't get new/old viewers in by just being a classic BB and let the housemates do the talking. They have to have gimmicks for publicity, sadly

Can anybody find someone who really likes the sound of this? Honestly, they're making out like people are clamouring for it, "MORE CONTACT WITH THE OUTSIDE WORLD, I WANT THE HM'S TO SEE MY INSTAGRAMS AND READ MY TWEETS!", yet all they're actually doing is pissing off the one group of people that actually give a damn about the show.

People need to chill out until the show starts. These interactions with the public could end up monitored to keep things in line. Who knows.

I'm trying to think positive, I really am.

But FFS they make it hard throwing crap like this at us!

Hopefully it just sounds worse than it is.. I don't mind a bit of outside interference. I'v always liked friends and family noms for instance. But I'v never like them being able to hear crowd reaction. They know too much already. So with this new thing.. I just don't know. I really can't see the point!

Im open, but it does open the show up to being even more produced, effecting the reality nature of the show! One day it'll be controlled and instructed reality like TOWIE or MIC.

Who cares though interactions with the public or anyone else outwith the house are a no no.

I wish they would just leave them alone. I always find it much more entertaining when it's just the housemates and the stuff that happens when they're bored.

Nothing can be as bad as it was in BB12 when they had a premier for Paranormal Activity and they left to watch the film and all those celebs entered the house lol.

I agree I hate outside contact but I think people are getting ahead of themselves here, it has calmed down a lot since BB12.

I think the whole tablet thing is where a housemate or housemates may be able to win a tablet to watch what the other housemates are saying about them? Better than some ****ty house next door.

It would be fun if housemates were secretly given tablets to see whats going on in the house as a way of communicating with each other and spying but no access to social media of any sort!

That would be genius in my opinion, never had anything like it on BB before.

I have faith.

What else could it mean because I really don't want to believe this social media bulls*it!? :( Could it mean winning the right to discovering knowledge using technology in other forms like in the toilet of BB6 where Saskia got access to a small TV that came out of the wall. Or even better a task like Caprice in CBB3 getting access to video tapes of her fellow housemates. I know those housemates didn't win the access to those things but hopefully you get my point

Exactly this is the impression I have been getting but obviously times have moved on so instead of having to go to secret rooms ect they can literally walk around with a tablet and watch whats going on in the house or see bitchy conversations about them.

I would much prefer that to a house next door or it being shown on the plasma and the housemates wont be expecting it as its never been done before.

But the whole showing housemates conversation thing has bee done to death and hasn't worked a majority of the time. It doesn't cause any friction anymore.

Also if they want them to scheme and play the game it won't work with housemates knowing that at anytime one housemate could be given the opertunity to watch their game play potentially ruining it for them.

Classic BB is pretty much dead.

The nooks and crannies sound interesting; I like the idea of secret rooms/passageways and other surprises... as long as they don't give someone a ridiculously unfair advantage.

Monitored or not, it is still contact with the outside world.

This is one of the basic rules. You can faff about with a whole host of other things within the format.

But, to me, contact with the outside world is one of the integral rules that must be kept otherwise it ceases being BB.

It's essentially about Big Brother having the power and control, not any of the housemates.

Except it says it will be giving the housemates and viewers certain power that "in the past only Big Brother has had."

Plus Big Brother should really always have power and control anyway lol. Just shows the housemates aren't as respectful of BB anymore and they no longer see BB as authority like back in the day if a housemate was given a punishment they shat themselves lol

I'm agreeing with Glenn :worry:

It really is no different to if they do it correctly to showing some HMs some of the others audition clips like Jackie viewing Callum's last year, how good was that.

Classic BB isn't a reliable ratings winner any more.

It was fine in the beginning because it was a social experiment, it was just one that happened to work. Then you get BB4 and the need to tamper and manipulate begins to creep in. Then you get CBB5 and there's an even bigger need to censor and control. And it has just carried on.

I won't jump to conclusions, they've not confirmed anything and they've not outright said what we assume will happen. But I do wish they'd just throw some people into a house, give them some weekly tasks and let the people in there be the entertainment. Take a risk C5!!!
