Heh. I remember when people used to post before going to bed in the middle of drama 'dont delete this thread please, lock it instead' or something along those lines :D

I never get involved in all the dramatic threads that get locked so i'd much rather read everything that went on.

locked or else the threads don't make sense with random posts deleted.
If your a mod how can you not resist deleting one persons posts to make it look like the other person is arguing over nothing?
Between that and changing people's names around you could have so much fun.

it takes two hands to clap so delete both members posts, or all the members involved.
Well they're different really :suspect: a thread will get locked if it's run its course or there's no chance of it getting back on track now, posts will be deleted if it's considered that the thread can still carry on alright it's just that the argument was derailing it at that time

Yes but sometimes they're locked before they properly get going as well :nono:

Thats nothing to do with what this OP asks you? and anyway that is what happens....

That's because we are here to close a thread or delete posts that could potentially turn into an all out war, or at the very least show ourselves in the thread so members chill out a bit and then we don't need to hand out any infractions or that.

I think I understand the analogy... when posts are removed it can distort the progression of the thread if some members are seen in a bad light the thread is 'cleaned' to redress the balance... imo.
So I say lock.

But surely if the mods are cleaning a thread by deleting posts they're not just going to leave one side of the argument hanging, they'll just wipe it all surely?
