Pensioner/retired.

Older =/= old. That seems to get confused on here.

How is 40-49 old?

It's halfway through your life, it's not the end.

I think it's narrow minded to see anyone as 'old'

Thats pretty presumptuous Marsh. What if you die when you're 50?

Thats pretty presumptuous Marsh. What if you die when you're 50?

Then you die young. :smug:

Nobody knows when they'll die but it doesn't stop 40s being middle aged.

It actually isn't as age is subjective, that's a really strange analogy btw.

Marsh.

But would you call a 90+ year old young?

the literal definition is "having lived for a long time; no longer young."

Living for, say, 60 years, is a long time.

Picked 40+ not cos I think it's old exactly but that's when you begin to start the back straight in life really, you'd ideally want to have settled down by then in terms of partner, career, home, kids etc.
