A letter signed by more than 50 researchers and public health specialists is urging the World Health Organization (WHO) to "resist the urge to control and suppress e-cigarettes".
The letter says the devices - which deliver nicotine in a vapour - could be a "significant health innovation".

Great news. E-cigs are the way forward for smokers of tobacco who want the nicotine but not the 4000 odd other chemicals that are released by burning tobacco.

This is good news for smokers, now they can get a pure nicotine hit without worrying about the 4,000 odd other chemicals in normal tobacco.
At least they will have the satisfaction of knowing that when they contract lung cancer it was all down to just nicotine alone.

Its the 50 odd carcinogens in the smoke that causes lung cancer not the nicotine :nono:

Nicotine alone does not cause cancer. It can promote the growth of some cancers but does not cause it

E-Cigs are actually helping a whole lot of people quit smoking which can only be a good thing. Also, it's better than what's in normal cigarettes......which again is a good thing.

E-cigs seem to be getting banned in public places now so I'd rather just smoke.
