http://robhasawebsite.com/why-big-brother-fans-should-watch-bb-uk-this-summer/
So this guy has quite a popular podcast in which he discusses and dissects all kinds of reality TV from Survivor to Big Brother US, Canada, The Amazing Race etc and he has been persuaded by two other guys (one of whom is a BBUS winner) to check out BBUK this year as they've both seen it before and are fans of it. They're trying to sell the show to American viewers who might not have seen it before and are enticing them to check it out, which is cool!
In this introductory podcast, they talk about the differences in formats and give a bit of an overview of what BBUK is like. Some of the stuff isn't exactly spot on  but they do seem to know their stuff!
Just thought I would post in case anyone fancied listening since I know some people like Couch Potatoes and a few others were intrigued by a clip of BBUS houseguests talking about our version a few years back :spin2: the comments below are quite positive as well!

Listening now. Ian talking about the Insiders block-voting in BB13. Or, as he called them, "the unlikeable people". :D
I actually remember it being said that he was a Lauren fan, too. I read it somewhere while his season of BB was on. I like his opinions I've heard on our show. :)
Marsh.

His reaction when they mentioned the giving birth rumours.

Something I love about this is it gives me something else to enjoy alongside BB this year. It'll be fun to listen to this podcast and hear the opinions of some US fans as the show goes on. :)

They aren't as annoying as i expected.. The one that sounds like Jonah Hill knows what hes talking about.
"They normally put normal people in BBUK"
:laugh2:
Marsh.
03-06-2014, 10:20 PM
He meant regular people off the street and then went on to call them creatures.
Marsh.
03-06-2014, 10:21 PM
Yeah, there was one of them rationalising when the other kept over exaggerating things.
The poor guy who's never watched must have thought we had a national live stream of a woman masturbating with a bottle. Closeups and everything.
Everybody gets naked on the first night, lmao
Lostie!

I'm liking Ian's BBUK knowledge. He mentioned the BB13 block-voting, Deana's launch night mission, BB8's caravan, the CBB5 race row, Makosi's secret mission, BB8's all-girls launch.
On another topic, this Creature of Walmart site he talks about sounds horrible, though! "Oh, an ugly person, I'll take their picture for them to be mocked by a bunch of trolls online".

The guy they're explaining it to wondering "How am I going to know what's going on without the houseguests explaining it to me?".
 By watching and paying attention.
But I'm surprised they didn't answer with the obvious, we see the housemates read out the task instructions and we have a narrator.

I wonder if this Podcast guy has some insider info about this year's BB. Like there's a reason why he is covering this year on his show.
Makes me think that this year will be bigger.
Have they done a review of the launch

Apologies, we're doing the best we can! Main goal was to introduce a ton of new people to BBUK, which I think goes under-appreciated in the States (and which I've consistently liked better than the US version). We've seen in the past that when we podcast about shows people have never watched, many of Rob's podcast listeners will give it a shot...and from the Twitter response we've converted many folks and made addicts of them.
And I swear she said "airbrush." ;)

For the record, I started watching BBUK with the CBBUK season in which Michael Madsen from Reservoir Dogs was a houseguest. Proceeded to watch BBUK 2012, which I absolutely loved, and then have seen every CBBUK and BBUK since...as well as the two BBAUs. I went back to the archives and have seen BBUK 2000 and 2001, the first CBBUK, and the first two BBAUs...currently a couple weeks into BBUK 2002, but have stalled out, as I watch the current season.
We'll be podcasting again tonight, after we get to watch the live eviction, around 9pm Eastern Time in the US.

OMG BB 2002 is legendary.
It was huge at the time and is definitely in my top 3. You need to get BB15 out the way first then give 2002 the attention it deserves lol.

Watch BB6UK & BB7UK now, they are the best season from a BBUK and Worldwide Big brother too
and the best season of a show ever aired on British TV

Will do! It was strange watching them divide the house in BBAU last fall, and then I started watching BBUK 2002...and saw the original "house divided" concept. Strange coincidence. I'm right at the point where the house has been split in two...will have to go back to it!

I'm a bit OCD when it comes to watching past series, so may have to subject myself to BB4UK and BB5UK first...besides, if they are lesser series, it will make me appreciate 6 & 7 all that much more. :)

Thanks! We obviously struggle a little with some of the local references/slang, and Rob hadn't seen the show before now...but otherwise, I'm glad we could get a bunch of his listeners turned onto the UK version.

BB3 & BB5 are amazing
BB4 is most likely the most boring season ever, since after BB3 they wanted to calm the house down since BB3 was a bit wild

Evel Dick producer on rtvzone first got me into bbuk a few years ago and I have since seen most of the bbuk series and prefer it to the us one most of the time. I have seen 3 5 6 7 8 9 10 parts of 11 12 13 and now 15. I enjoyed 7 and 9 the most but 3 5 6 and 10 had their moments for sure. This forum is how I keep up with the show from the US so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do Curt.

that's cool and all that you don't care about Dick but I was referring to this other guy that produced his show not him to explain how I first heard about the show and why I starting watching it and enjoying it.
