The upcoming series of Big Brother UK will see just 10 hours of live feed, it’s been revealed.

This week welcomes back the series to our screens for the summer with a double live launch show on both Thursday and Friday night.

But we’ll only actually see 25 minutes of live footage from the house both nights, airing from 11:35PM until midnight on Channel 5.

The small segments of live feed will continue throughout the series but won’t even been airing every week.

For example, next Friday evening’s live show won’t see any live feed at all, with spin-off show Bit On The Side airing until ten past midnight.

But there will be a 30 minute segment of live footage from the house on MONDAY evening at 10PM, where host Emma Willis will reveal a “surprise twist” to the housemates, just days after they entered.

10 hours a day would have been a miracle. I thought 10 hours per week.. maybe not it seems.

Still, at least there is something. Better than nothing I guess!

Online feed is still the way to go though... surprised there's no indication of that happening this year.

I thought it was PER WEEK

Not surprised. Not to mention BOTS is so terrible and literally no one even bothers to be in the audience for it except the same scummy looking people who are there every day for 9 weeks, yet they really see that as a necessity? Sure it's useful but in its current form it's a waste

Lmao, It makes no sense? All other Big Brothers around the world have 24/7 online live feed :conf:

They actually have no decent excuse, they just love to edit and manipulate it too much, it's tragic

Now you know why we're all pissed at the misleading title

Even 10 hours for the week would be big news, there's been little indication that the two hours a night we got last year were guaranteed again

:bored: they really should increase the live feed, especially if viewers are supposed to make a judgement to influence the show.

Jamesy
03-06-2014, 09:52 PM
They need BOTS but I think they need to freshen it up a bit and possibly change the name of the show. It's mostly pointless these days. They summarise the days events.. at the end of the day, usually repeating what 90% of viewers will have seen on Facebook/Twitter/YouTube prior to the episode. Why not show stuff that hasn't been put online all day?! Then you get a knock off Big Mouth with the same audience members we've seen for 3 years.

I don't mind BOTS but it is getting rather stale now. I know C5 don't splash out the cash as much but just one year of extra money to revamp the spin off show would work off very well.

Regarding live feed, they can easily get an online feed (didn't they do it last year and it was a massive hit?!). Even 2-5 hours a night would be amazing at this moment in time.

So the only BB in the world to not have live feed.

The whole draw of the show is isolation and being watched 24/7 are they on crack?

BBUK has gone from ground breaking to just another tv show.

This was the perfect time to bring back live feed it ties in with the whole theme, it could have been relaunched but 10 hours over 2 months?

In 2 months i'll probably spend more time taking a dump than having access to live feed.

Marsh.

they have only done live feed when they have a twist anyway, plus we don't want live feed until we get more "normal" housemates or id be smashing about 4 telly's a series.

It’s official Live feed has officially bit the bullet and will not be returning for the rest of this year, It was promised that live feed would be back if only a small amount.

Live feed has become a thorn in the side of Channel 5 since it Moved from the good old day’s on Channel 4, but it’s clear to see that C5 wanted a new direction away from Big Brother.

Richard Desmond had always been the driving force with bringing Big Brother to Channel 5 and now that he’s left it’s clear to see Big Brother’s future has become the Titanic of programs.

At the beginning of this year director of programmes Ben Frow promised 10 hours in total we have had only 1 hour the entire series.

Jamesy

This was near enough confirmed anyway. The fact we're on week 6 with nothing since week one that pretty much already gives away they had no plans for live feed.

I still think for BB16 (if it happens) they need to bring back an online live feed that people can pay for a season pass to view. It works for other Big Brothers and even worked for the UK show on C4 so they have no excuse to try that out really. Or get a nightly live feed on 5*.

Isn't it the only Big Brother in the whole world that doesn't do live feed?
They are trying to make it a TOWIE/ Geordie Shore hybrid and without live feed they can edit it as much as they want.

I would never even consider voting without livefeed, I want to make my own mind up about housemates not have some cheap crappy narrative forced upon me by their amateurish production team.

You realize the majority of the production team are the same people who were on the Channel 4 series... they just followed it over and do what they're told to do by Endemol.

And sorry but whatever your views on live feed, which has nothing to do with the production team anyway, you can't say the production values are amateurish. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get the HL shows together from 24 hours of footage that was filmed the previous day in so many different rooms of so many different people? There are camera men constantly standing with cameras filming everything, always on alert in case they miss the small things like hand holding and stuff, plus the task team work INSANLY hard too - whatever you may think of the tasks, they're not just thought out in a night and put up by the time the housemates wake up - it's weeks of planning and time and money.
Sorry, but it does annoy me when people say stuff like that, when to anybody watching who knows the show, it's obviously not true. BB has higher production values than a lot of shows put together.

They dont even employ most of the production team anymore they just use freelance staff for the duration of the run.
Even the head director producer Alex Scott is freelance they hire him from MercianMedia Most of the others are pretty much kids just finding their feet in the industry.

Your notion that its the same team is pretty cute but im afraid its not true.

BB has higher production values than a lot of shows put together. You dont need to keep saying sorry, In my opinion the production style comes across as cheap and trashy. Im sure the people they employ are doing the job to the best of their ability but as i said in my post above the staff they use now arent a patch on full time more experienced staff they used to have working on the show.
The whole thing screams cheap.
You insinuate that anyone that doesnt agree with your post doesnt know the show well im afraid thats a bit naive.
