It's a shame really. His cold and more distant narration was part of the show's charm.

Its hard to see how producers ect cannot see how much it winds people up.

He'd be unreplacable though, it would be even worse with anyone else. Although, what do you think about NO narrator? Although instead it might have to have hm's in the diary room explaining what's going on like in IAC or BBUS.
