View Full Version : So what was the point in splitting the housemates over 2 nights?

I get why they wanted to do a second show because it gave Pauline time to get to know the housemates (a tiny bit) and make her decision, but splitting the housemates over two nights made no sense.. All it achieved was making her less likely to pick one of the new six because she had never spoken to them before. Am I missing something?

They split the launch night because the premiere generally gets higher ratings than the other episodes. It's a way of trying to carry the higher ratings into the second episode.

yea, it was pointless. was not fan of split launch days, and pass to final is another pointless idea. maybe big brother can cancel it at some point.

I agree, they should have all entered together like BB13. Judging by the way Pauline was acting last night it looks like the killer nomination will go to someone who was in the final 6

..I don't think they could have fitted it all into one launch night though..all of the housemates/Pauline being given the power/choosing rewards and punishments and her 'immediate impression' pass to the final and every week nomination etc...

The last six in are at an immediate disadvantage so I won't be surprised if one of them get the killer nomination, Chris probably :idc:

I prefer the double launch, the first episode after that is always boring.. But I'd say to keep audience figures higher and to add to twists and stuff. I liked it.

If you mean adverts then no, because they'd have a highlights show then anyway.

Trying to get all 16 housemates in on the first night and then doing the money/punishment twist would have kept it on air until midnight...

No one cares about that money/punishment thing anyway, everyone has already forgot about it. 9pm-11pm with less Emma filler and they could have easily done it :idc:

I'm not fussed that they were split, but what is pointless and I don't know how anyone else see's it but how can you make pauline watch all their VTs and not meet them, and then ask who would you like to go to the final and then give her the option of all the house mates, i mean that's the easiest decision you can make surely either pick someone you've not met or someone you've got on with :S It was a complete and utter pointless decision to even just put her in that room, i thought she was picking out of the 6 myself, why would you do that you might aswel of just got her to meet them all in the house and then be called to the diary room, well this power trip thing is turning out to be a big pile of doo doo

The pass to the final thing was pointless unless Helen has a personality transplant at some point. She seems benign and like she'll more or less get on with everyone and not ruffle any feathers. Plus it's VTE. I suspect she would have cruised through to the final week anyway.

What a waste.

If I had been in that room, I'd have given the pass to someone who seemed like they WOULD be nominated a lot and maybe out early. Actually make a difference. And wind people up. :D.

I found the six that went in last night were slightly more humble than the first 10.... I think this was possibly a game plan by BB that will make the first 10 (or some of them anyway) more arrogant and patronising...if that makes sense.

C4 have managed to do 16 housemates and a twist in a reasonable amount of time before

It's just a failed attempt at getting ratings. Hopefully after last nights flop it's back to normal next year.

just to try and make more of it I think. I'd have preferred them to all go in at the same time though.

It eliminates a slightly repetative Day 1 highlight show, so thats a bonus.

So they can draw out the launch a bit more, judging by Rylan's comments on BOTS last night they believe fans prefer two launches to one as welll.

Which does not work.

The split launches have never performed as well.

Im hoping they realise this and ffs don't split the final.

I hate the split launches I just want a 90 minute event then just get on with it. 14 housemates in on launch 2 new ones half way in.

I would have preferred just a normal launch...overnight vote for power housemate, then decisions made in live show yesterday.
