Maximum size of signatures and banners

I'm sure we all agree that signature banners add a bit colour to the forum but...

I saw a signature earlier with about 5 banners in it, and with very large signatures it takes some time to scroll through. Not to mention pages being slower to load for dial-up users.

Most forums have a limit to the size of signatures. So...

Can you reduce your signatures to within these limits:

No more than 2 banners (550px x 150px) and five lines of text (including blank lines).

Or... one banner and ten lines of text.

Or... no banner and 15 lines of text.

Thanks for reducing the height of sigs, those that have.

Make sure the limit of lines of text includes blank lines as well as lines of text - because that increases the height as much.

Also make sure the banners are not more than about 150px high, because tall banners defeat the purpose of the limit.

It's a bit too high... banners shouldn't be more than 150 pixels high.

Just in case you missed the last post Miss McKenzie Ronaldo, it is stll 50 pixels too high..... you need reduce it and then use a sharpen filter to bring out the detail again and it will look great.

For those that want to know how Kaz did it she add the required size to the img tag:

"....................../cristiano_ronaldo_sig1.jpg"

So the banner became the correct size. You might need a calculator to do it since need to change the width and the hight by the same factor to get the correct size.

Here is an example

[i]You have a banner that is 600 pixels wide by 200 high

1. So you divide 150 (the required hight) by 200 which is 0.75

2. Then multiply the width 600 by 0.75 which comes out at 450

3. Enter these values into the image tag thus [img=450x150]

These are the Forum limits - they're given in James's first post on this thread:

No more than 2 banners (550px x 150px) and five lines of text (including blank lines).

Or... one banner and ten lines of text.

Or... no banner and 15 lines of text.

Or... one 550x300 banner and five lines of text

The problem you have Sophii3x is that you 1st banner is the maximum height already (300 pixels) So you can officially only have one banner if you keep that one. Resizing the other one won't make a bit of difference you will still be exceeding the limit.

The size of people banners are getting big again. Please check with the first page that your banners /signature fit within the guidelines.

People with oversized banners could have them deleted by admin if they are not sorted out soon. Here some of the ones I have noticed looking around the site today:
