I thought she said she didn't want to be treated as the mother figure :suspect: another one who is unravelling in the first week

Hate how the token older housemates always assumes this 'mother' role, means they can get away with anything and never get nommed

Exactly though I didn't like her on launch night and really didn't see why everyone was singing her praises but now I just really can't stand the woman!

she was immune from eviction this week though wasn't she@ Along with Helen? I love the way that Mark isn't now following the crowd, ie he changed his mind about Jale. I could actually see Mark and Jale as great friends.

I couldn't really understand the hype on night 1 either the public were duped into voting her as the power HM, in last and significantly older than the previous 9 HMs,she didn't disappoint though with how quickly the power went to her head lol

Indeed it's been great to watch her nasty side emerge and don't tell me she was relieved to lose the power - she was livid!!

I'd love to see whoever gets the power banning her from cooking that would scupper her plans :)

Me too, i don't like to say who my favourite is till a bit later because things change so much in the first week or so as they settle in but he's shot right up to the top of my list

He stood out for me when he first went in - maybe because he's not one of the beautiful people - and he hasn't disappointed yet but I would like to see more of him in the programme.

Yeah it's hard to get a proper look at the non raging fish wife characters in the first week or two, they usually have a short life span in there though so when they're all gone should get to see more of the interesting characters

Funny how the two HMs she's taken such a dislike to are the ones who are a bit bit over weight (they're not that much overweight either imo) I wonder is it a bit of a case of projecting her own insecurities onto them and maybe a little bit of self loathing?

Chris is waiting until the time is right then he's going to take her down.

Hopefully.

I'm almost sure.

Just give him the power.

He needs the help.

I guess it's just me and Salman then that are glad Pauline didn't turn out to be the inoffensive older woman that plays the stereotypical mother role and tries to keep the peace, I'm very surprised by how she's turned out...who'd have thought the near 50 year old woman would be the person to instigate most of the divides and drama? Personally I think that's a good thing

yea i like drama but doenst mean i have to like her. it would be too early if she went in a week or two but then again her act could get tiring. she'll be around for a bit i think but i wouldnt be surprised if she was gone in a month either.

No one said you had to like her, it's wanting her out that's the issue

The way she has turned out is much better for the show than if she'd lived up to the role you'd expect her to play, I'm pleasantly surprised (in show terms, in real life terms I think her behaviour is quite deplorable)

Eh? where did you get that from, I'm delighted the power went to her head, didn't take to her from Day 1 and you can see from her face she is hard as nails and not the motherly type, she was practically canonised on here on night 1 with people running to get into her fan thread. It was great that she got the power, its plain to see the producers wanted her to have it as well because of where they put her in the line up, if they had mixed in some of the Day 2 HMs on day one no way she would have got it.

Just because it seems everyone's criticising her for the way she turned out :suspect:

I agree though that in the end I think her getting the power was the right decision, I have to say I could never have anticipated the divides and drama that have arisen from it on launch night. I thought her getting it was a little safe and boring initially, how wrong I was.

Definitely like this theme so far, it's interesting to see how people may gravitate towards those with the power. Pauline getting it on night one set up these initial divides and it's amazing how one little thing like that can potentially set up series long feuds

It did initially seem that she would be practical and down to earth, something about her eyes though, she looks battled hardened!

this :bored: I don't think pauline acts like a mother in any way, half of the other girls are more mature than her.
