My microwave has apparently got some liquid leaking inside of it and i've been advised not to use it but it still seems to work (the light comes on) so I'm gonna try it out

Take your microwave out from your toilet or at least away from the toilet bowl.

Sounds like there is something maybe stuck in the little vents on the side of it. Get a fork and poke around, see if you can dislodge it.
