Bosses from Big Brother are facing criticism during the first week of the show, amid allegations of blasphemy, bullying, racism and swearing.

Broadcasting watchdog Ofcom said it had already received 209 complaints about the series in its first seven days - mainly after the explosive row between Helen Wood and Danielle McMahon earlier this week.

The expletive-laden argument - which attracted 166 complaints - saw Helen, the former lover of Wanye Rooney, criticise Danielle for her Catholic views by making comments about Jesus.

The nature of the argument, which was watched by 1.3million viewers, already forced Channel 5 to pull the daytime repeat from the schedules - for the first time in the show's history.

Now Ofcom is assessing the complaints made and deciding whether or not to open a formal investigation into the comments made

The furious argument, which was aired on Tuesday, involved Helen telling Danielle to ‘stop s******g Jesus’.

Amazing that after 15 years - people are watching Big Brother and are shocked enough to complain about it to Ofcom !!

Have they REALLY not sussed out - that's what Big Brother is all about ! Extremes and clashes of views are all part of the fun! That's what the fans and viewers want !

Big Brother is a haven away from other mundane, vanilla TV. To show people in their raw, infiltered state without having to follow the bland media 'one size fits all' personality.

BB = REAL people. That's whole the point and pleasure of the program!

No need for any of us to overreact to this or be shocked. Shows get complaints all the time. You get 'professional' complainers who go around on all channels looking for things to send complaints about. Big Brother is just an easy target.

always sados in this world, i wonder if they realize that complaining to ofcom doesn't stop the person they find offencive. and doesn't change peoples views. all it does make them hide it away so we dont see it.
