Bloody Jamie Oliver has got a lot to do with this. Healthy Eating !!!!. Let the Kids eat what they want for gods sake. My son will only eat certain foods like a lot of children. He took a packed lunch on his first day back and the dinner lady told him he wasnt allowed a chocolate biscuit(Kit Kat) I am fuming :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: I shall be visiting the school in Due course to discuss the matter. They will not tell me what my son can and cant eat.:mad::rolleyes:

I went to a meeting with my school today and came home depressed because of the school dinners, personally i like lasagne etc what there offering but i don't think it's fair that there not giving you a choice. All this healthy eating is crap, they should put the healthy eating as an option but also a 'fat ba$tard' option too.
They are only serving water now in my school apparently so if i go in on Tuesday and there is only water (which i cannot stomach) then i will complain about it if they don't let me bring my own drinks in.
They should give you options and not force 'us' what to eat.

exactly My son got embarrased because he had a bloody kit Kat in his lunch Box. I work with Kids and know what they like. Just leave them well alone :mad::mad::mad::mad:
I hate all this healthy eating sh!te, they should butt out and let us eat what the heck we like.

you bet :dog::dog::dog:
As if one kit kat's going to do him any harm, stupid school.
They used to do cakes, pizza's, sausage rolls, garlic bread, slush puppies and loads of other junk food while I was at school but once I got into year 11 they stopped it and replaced it with mainly fruit and vegtable based meals .I had a packed lunch instead.

I would too, they cannot rule what people eat :nono:

I think if the parent gives the child a packed lunch then the school should butt out. The school can decide what they serve in the dinner hall but keep their noses out of the packed lunches.

I hate Jamie now
That School Dinners programme was allowed of TRASH
Its SO obvious those kids were told to like that healthy food
Since when do young kids suddenly go off the food they love.
They wouldnt ALL do it.
As a pupil, its really annoying because I just want a snack at breaktime and its all to expensive now, and if I just want a chocolate bar I have to buy one for like £1.50 and its pathetic
Jamie Oliver is an idiot.
What it got to do with him anyway?
Like he cares about school kids.
Phew..

To be honest, this whole thing is to stop kids from eating what they want, becuase its mainly junk food. I only eat junk food sometimes (all the time ) but its seriously damaging people. Thats why this whole thing has started. There not saying you cant have it, just not all the time. School Dinners served junk food everyday of the week.

But theyve gotten rid of normal vending machines and replaced them with overpriced things.
This is all just a rouse to get Jamie publicity.
I ate pasta all the time anyway..

Well most kids go home and eat after. I dont see why people cant eat Salad or what ever healthy food is served for school dinners, then go home and eat what you like. They can stop you eating at home.

Maybe some people dont like salad
I know some people who just dont eat at school anymore
MarkWaldorf

Well they probs eat at home afterwards. No one forces them to eat salads and all that at school.

Our school is in a town, so most kids just go there to have their dinner. And our school dinner menu offers a healthy eating one, but also non-healthy options (though they are more expensive).

Ours still has chips
Its mostly the vending machines which have gone and replaced with healthy crud.
KitKat= 40p
Healthy eating choc= £1.00

We have chips on Friday

Well I used to have salad, but now it costs loads. My mum only gives me two quid a day, I don't get breakfast, which buys meh... let's think... two packs of pumpkin seeds! Wow!! I mean, now I just literally can't eat anything and it's really bad cos if I haven't eaten all day cos it's so costly then I feel sick when I do eat... and then my mum and my nan start arguing again ....
It's crap, there's nothing in the vending machines, you're not even allowed crisps!!
*shoots JO* RIP Jamie :xyxwave:

i used to have school dinners, by the time i got to them, it was cold. its all gone healthy now. we have chips everyday though. i'd rather have packed lunch, i tend to pack nutri grains and kit kats. our school is'nt aloud to go to the shops. only if you live close to the scholl your aloud to go home.

Boris Johnson has had his say against Jamie Oliver now, and been forced to apolgise! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/5405498.stm
What the Government and Jamie Oliver don't seem to understand is that a lot of children don't actually like going to school and this will make them dislike it even more.

the dinners omg! Healthy eating. In my school where i work its like the work house. More like starving the :bawling:kids Yuk Yesterday it was dry shrivveled pizza ,cabbage, and watery mashed potatoe. omg!. and for pudding well er a flat oaty biscuit with a cherry on the top.(the cherry had been flattened by the way) It was like the days of oliver twist. Bring back the burgers sausage and chips. Food the kids will eat. We have had more kids on the sick since this all started.
