Cant see it carrying on with these awful ratings
it's against the world cup of course it's bad, EE dropped to 3 Million yesterday so it's not just Big Brother

The World Cup being on isn't helping. I do hope it continues though. Some minority interest stuff is a good thing and I hope the TV companies realise this.

this and it's channel 5's highest rated show (aside from CBB) so they're winning with it

No its a major talking point ffs so stop shooting people down if they dare mention it.
We have good reason to discuss it, civilian BB only rated well last year and this one is doing **** so that's 1 successful civilian BB out of 4 series.
Viacom have not yet confirmed they are renewing it and the way the ratings are going people are very entitled to be concerned.

I doubt it but there's no yes or no at this point.
They still have a solid audience around the 1 million mark, regardless of what's on TV. The show will be making money from the show sponsor and companies that have paid them for product placement. Plus adverts during the breaks will be bringing in revenue. So financially I doubt the lower figures are ruining the show (or channel) at all.
For a show that is on for 3 months a guaranteed 1 million viewers every night during that time period will very much sway them towards keeping the show. Although the 200-500k drop in viewers per night (compared to last year) will no doubt worry C5 as to whether this will happen next year, so they might view a renewal as a big risk. But they may understand that the world cup is affecting all channels at the moment including C5 and BB.
The officials will be more telling of whether this series is a flop or not with viewers. Until then I don't think there is any need for worrying just yet. No one on here really understands how television works or what is going on with C5/BB at the moment.

CBB is far superior.
If they have the chance to ditch civilian and keep celebrity , then I think they will. Cost wise they would be in the money.

CBB? Superior?!
BB will always be about the Civilian versions.
The CBB's are frankly ****e.

Hopefully, can't stand the hypocrisies of the viewers anymore. Finally enough, it's the viewers who have spoilt the show.
Oh, and the producers with their dreadful predictability in making certain housemates villains. I always predict correctly who BB are planning on giving a good edit, and I was right once again. BB viewers, particularly forum members fall for it every time.

I thought that civillian BB had to happen or else they wouldn't be able to just use the house for 3 weeks every half year due to costs :/

Yes I think they have to do BB it's in the contract CBB is like a spin off show, there would be no point building a house for 3 weeks anyway

So basically, everyone is at fault but you, who obviously has amazing depth and foresight far beyond the understanding of... well, everyone else. Is that likely, do you think? And yet here you are, on a BB forum.

Making my option of a 13 week celebrity Big Brother a good second choice.

They can't do that, they will have to pay them about 3 Million for each Celeb

they'd probably be willing to go bankrupt for their precious CBB

Which wouldn't work, 'celebs' aren't willing to sign up that long and Channel 5 would end up forking out half of what a three year contract for the show is worth for a three year contract of the series just for the 'celebs' who are

Wouldn't they just keep the same layout and just decorate it differently every series to suit the theme?

A 13 week CBB would not work. You've got to get past the hurdle of paying the celebs first, and we know some past celebs have cost £millions for just 3 weeks. Then they've got to find celebs who would take 13 weeks of their time away... not going to happen.

(Emma's opening line for CBB 124): 'We've got no budget left, Marcus no longer gets paid and we've had to reuse the same house layout for the past ten years.. but what does that matter when you've got a Benefits Street star and Brian Dowling's cousin?!'

I really don't see the need in people hoping BB ends forever, there are literally hundreds of channels to watch so it's not like it's taking up precious space for quality TV on channel 5 at 9pm.
Why are people so selfish in wanting a show to end while millions still enjoy it?
I don't care anymore, I want them to give it channel 4, it's the only way we can keep this show alive without beating a dead horse.

wasn't there a post that someone wanted bb to last 50 years?

as most of the celebrities that go in are distinctly 'z' listed, i think they would have plenty of free time

Knew someone was going to say that lol.
Despite most of them being z listers, they do still have things going on; my money point probably stands stronger though as those who appear on CBB do not come cheap.
