and was slightly octracized because of it on night 1, does not mean you have to feel sorry for him at every given opportunity. it doesn't make him a saint, it doesn't mean all housemates must go out of their way to please him and it does not mean anyone who goes against him is a bully that deserves stoning.
let's say it was Pauline's name which was shouted from outside.. absolutely no way would jale be condemned the way she's being right now. in fact people would probably have condemned jale if she did conceal the information, accusing her of always pandering to Pauline
just why should Jale be expected to keep it to herself for Chris' benefit anyway? IT'S A GAMESHOW. the power housemate's at an advantage to everyone else in the house so of course they're all gonna want to get to the bottom of who it is, especially when the PH makes decisions at their expense. coupled with the unnatural levels of paranoia in there it only makes sense for Jale to do what she did. her actions were nothing personal. if the roles were switched and Chris was the one who blabbed, I'd bet a lot of money people on this site would defend him and be all He Was Just a Thinking Of The Others
getting really, really fed up of the extremely fickle and songs of praise mentality on here. what chance does the show have if even the supposed diehards have adopted the general public's way of thinking that has destroyed/come close to destroying so many series in the past?

If you say you're not going to say anything then you shouldn't say anything, Jale only blabbed because the information she was given made her feel important.
If Jale had kept the information to herself she'd have come across to the public alot better.
Agreed it is a game show...however i think the housemates have forgotten this!

Um. Not sure what point you're trying to make. Pauline never 'stood out' from the rest like Chris did on the first night, he was never octracized. Perhaps you should next time read the rest of my post instead of the first two lines.

Just restarted watching a few series ago.
I do find peoples behaviour fascinating:pipe:
I see your point, though I don't think Chris being old and unattractive has anything to do with it really. It's true though that the whole concept of the power housemate is supposed to mess with them and even if Jale doesn't personally suffer from it it's still aimed at affecting all of them negatively by secretly elevating another housemate to a position of power over the others, by sowing seeds of doubt in all their minds and by trying to promote dissension among them, I don't see why she should be obligated to keep it a secret from the others when its something which doesn't really help any of them. It's unfortunate for BB and Chris that some randomer has spoiled it but that's just tough luck. Jale wasn't entrusted with a secret and it's not like Chris confided in her, she was just relaying something that could have been heard by any one of them after it got shouted into the garden

:puzzled:But she said she wasn't going to tell anyone!
People change their minds I guess, I think it was more stupid of her to promise that in the first place and start going on about how she wasn't a 'grass', it would only make her a grass if someone had entrusted her with that information as a secret but they didn't

stop moaning and let people have their opinions, that's what the show is supposed to create. FYI I went off Jale a bit because of what she did but I'm not exactly wanting her out because of it because obviously I can see she's good for the show. People CAN have a negative opinion on something that happens but still appreciate the entertainment rather than just blindly excusing anything they wouldn't agree with IRL

why tf would it make you go off her what she did was so minor
It wasnt minor...the action itself was minor I guess, but she s a clever girl...she knows what area she is walking on, and that is stepping on others to make herself more popular in the house...its not what she did so much as what it symbolises
she was one of the outsiders and kinda made out that she accepted that place in society, but she has shown that really she wants to be in the ''in crowd'' and will step on others and go against her own ethics to get there
its not lying or being a grass......its igoring what she heard or being a grass...and she was a grass...boooooooo to being a grass

I don't see it like that at all. Come on, let's be rational. You really think Jale is that desperate and pathetic she's willing to throw someone under the bus to get on the good books of the people who've been nasty to her? There have been no other instances of her attempting to be friends with Helen/Pauline/etc from what I've seen. She strikes me as someone who really doesn't give a **** about who's popular and who's not.

I don't find bitchyness and two-facedness entertaining. I find watching a bunch of strangers trying to find a way to co-exist when they have nothing in common entertaining.
I agree. I love watching people's behaviour and the dynamics of the house, but the desperate people who have to be loud and bitchy to get some attention are not in the least entertaining. Those who shout the loudest usually have less to say, and BB proves that to be true time and time again. A ridiculous number of these housemates are insanely weak-willed, ready to jump onto the safest ship and do whatever they can to fit in. Sheep are not interesting.
The difference between Chris bitching and them bitching, is that they're usually doing it to cause trouble and to make things difficult for the person in question and Chris bitches to BB privately. He finds a way to co-exist without 1) gossiping with 'the cool kids' to get into their group and 2) putting people down for the sake of being 'honest'. He displays much more character and tact by trying to get along with these people - without giving into their supposed charm - rather than creating trouble because they need attention. He's also articulate and honest, whereas the others act like spoilt children.

Maybe because he did it in a way whereby he was giving his honest opinion rather than divulging childish insults and engaging in pathetic screaming matches and schoolyard "Let's go outside away from slug" behaviour?
Having a negative opinion and sharing it to be honest is fine. Attacking people and being completely overbearing won't go down well.
Maybe if Pauline, Helen and Toya's "honesty" was simple, rational and normal it would be accepted more. But they just want to fight and argue for control.

Obviously there has to be some conflict and bitchyness/backstabbing, but it doesn't have to be the central theme of the show.
