She was stabbed to death.

[A woman has died after being attacked in Colchester - and police say her full Muslim dress
and veil may have been a factor.
The woman, who has not yet been identified, was walking
on the town's Salary Brook Trail at 10.40am on Tuesday when
she was violently beaten and attacked with a knife or other bladed weapon.
Paramedics tried to save her but she died at the scene from injuries to her head and body.
Essex Police have said the woman, who was in her 30s, was wearing a dark
navy blue full length robe (known as an Abaya) and
a patterned multi-coloured Hijab headscarf.
Detective Superintendent Tracy Hawkings said
officers were keeping an open mind about the motive of the attack.]

CCTV footage capturing a Saudi student walking alone 20 minutes before she was murdered has been released as police warn people in the area not to go out by themselves.

The harrowing clip shows Nahid Almanea, 31, outside shops in Colchester, Essex, just before she was stabbed 16 times in a frenzied attack on a nearby footpath.

Officers believe the PhD student could have been targeted because of her traditional Muslim dress - a long, dark robe and a headscarf.

Ms Almanea, who moved to the UK just six months ago, was found bleeding to death at 10.40am on Tuesday in the town.

A 52-year-old man from Colchester has been arrested in connection with the incident. Officers are thought to have requested extra time to question him.

There is nothing to suggest that it was racially motivated, why are they spinning this angle? A white male was stabbed 100 times in march my guess is they're linked.
Nutter alert for Colchester.

..I saw this a few days ago on the local news, it really is awful..the police do seem to think it was a racially motivated attack...

Kinda agree with Kizzy here how on earth do the police know it is racially motivated, unless they know for SURE,it should not be put out as so,the nutter who did it would probably have picked any old Joe walking past.

I heard this in the news, as Kizzy said there was a similar attack on a white male a few months ago in the town, that attack on the man never made the news :bored:

Even if it's not caused by some sort of ridiculous racial belief, it's still a horrific tragedy. One of the biggest problems of the UK is the hate that 'foreigners' get... disgusting. I can honestly say I have never met a horrible muslim person, yet I've had my fair share of awful british people... I hate seeing people disrespect other religions/races so much.

Of course it is a tragedy but linking this to her wearing of the hijab is a kneejerk reaction that in itself causes more problems especially given that there had been a similar attack a few months earlier. Lulling people into a false sense of security by claiming this was racial or religiously motivated could result in someone else dying at the hands of this nutter. The police are keeping an open mind so the title is misleading. It's nothing to do with disrespecting anything.

We're massively tolerant over here. The media would have people believe there's some big divide and everyone hates foreigners but I don't think it's the case. It's a case of minorities making the noise and getting the headlines.

'Detective Superintendent Tracy Hawkings said officers were keeping an open mind about the motive of the attack.
But she added: 'We are conscious that the dress of the victim will have identified her as likely being a Muslim and this is one of the main lines of the investigation but again there is no firm evidence at this time that she was targeted because of her religion.'

Let's thank the media hype that leads to situations like this...

'A British ISIS fighter who has threatened to return home has urged Muslims in the UK to avenge the murder of a Saudi Arabian woman in Essex.
A man using the nom de guerre Abu Rashash Britani has previously claimed that he and other British insurgents have been ordered to return to Britain once they have finished fighting in Iraq and Syria by the fanatical ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Following the murder of 31-year-old PHD student Nahid Almanea in Colchester, Essex on Tuesday, Abu Rashash Britani said: 'I call upon any brother to take up a knife and kill as they did #colchester'.

There is an investigation into the angle that she was killed because she was a Muslim woman receiving an education. I think this is as likely as someone racist killing her simply because she's Muslim.

"British ISIS fighter who has threatened to return home"

Yes but he does know who did it.

So he who will he kill
if he did return here?

I think it is a bit foolhardy of the Police to spin this as a racist or religious crime. The fact is another person a white male was also knifed (about 100 times) a few days earlier in the same park.

Clearly there is a lunatic on the prowl attacking people at random.

So to label this as a revenge attack against Muslims is wrong. It could inflame tensions and worst case cause other extremists to carry out revenge attacks, resulting in other innocent people losing their lives.

The police need to issue the facts and not speculate as to motive until there is more evidence to back up their theories.

More likely motive is an enraged husband or father.
