Both England and USA had tough groups. In fact USA had toughest group: WC rivals Ghana, efficient Germany and Ronaldo's Portugal (although the less said about the latter the better)

Seeing USA defend well and grind out a win against the onslaught of Ghana was wondering if TeamUSA has overtaken England at footy. The FIFA rankings are close. They did well against England in 2010 and Klinsmann has managed to get the side well organised especially defensively, even their holding midfielder Beckerman would probably show up a few England players.

They undeservingly beat a very poor Ghana team, no.

They've played one game... against a terrible Ghana side.

Ghana were ****e. I think I could have put in a decent performance against them.

Undoubtedly yes

We have better players but they're a better team. Same with Costa Rica

England can't play as a team, true and Roy needs to examine why. It's like watching 11 strangers. The weird thing is they are the only team in WC who play in same league so you'd think there would be some familiarity and team understanding. It was cringey watching them meet each other on FA video.
