Helen talks to Ash about her past:

Ash: “So basically, you think that people outside will say to me ‘why are you talking to her’ because of something you’ve done?”
Helen: “Yeah…”
Ash: “Just tell me, you might as well…”
Helen: “Right, last night you know when I got a bit over the top about Danielle thing with media and stuff? Basically, I was drunk and stuff and I blew it all out of proportion. Why I was saying the whole ‘you go to a ******ing paper and sell stuff on your friend…’ that’s what got done to me...”
Ash: “About what?”
Helen: “About sleeping with someone…”
Ash: “Who was it?”
Helen: “I can’t say…I actually can’t say”

Ash: “Right, you’re saying you sold a story?”
Helen: “I didn’t, no… Someone was involved and we agreed not to tell anyone about what we’d done. A year later she got in touch with me, she was like the press has been in touch and they’ve heard. I was like ‘how did they hear?’…because he’s not told anyone, he’s ****ing married’
Ash: “So, you slept with someone who’s married?”
Helen: “Yeah”
Ash: “Who’s a celebrity?”
Helen: “Yeah”
Ash: “Well, why did you do that?”
Helen: “Because I did”
Ash: “And how long was that?”
Helen: “Like four years ago…”
Ash: “So why are you bothered about it now?”
Helen: “It massively bothers me because I’ve never escaped it… When people say ‘oh go and sell something in the newspaper’, I’m like ‘why do you see it as such a ******ing trivial thing…do you understand what it does to people’s lives’? I don’t want you to see stuff and hear stuff and be like ‘well she wasn’t who I thought she was’ because that’s not the case…it was years ago and it was all out of my control when it happened and I have made massive, massive mistakes that I do regret”
Ash: “Was you like with your ex when you did it or what?”
Helen: “No, it was my job”
Ash: “What do you mean?”
Helen: “Well, can you not guess?”
Ash: “Really?! Oh right, so that’s why you’re worried about it?”
Helen: “No, not about that, I’m not bothered about that. It was just a ******ing sh*t spell that I went through and I did stupid things for stupid reasons but…oh god what am I doing? Why am I talking about this? Why am I talking about this? I never thought this conversation would ever come up here… It’s not guilty because I don’t fu**king owe anyone an explanation but I just thought if I do want to see these people am I really meant to sit here and ******ing hide the fact that when they get out there going to see loads of stuff’’

Because she was a prostitute? That's ridiculous. They get tested far more than your average everyday person. I know of quite a few people who have had trivial STD's and every single one of them picked them up on a weekend, in a club, with regular people.

Well the conversation started off with her saying something along the lines of...'People out there will be wondering why you even speak to me' something like that.

Maybe she felt he had a right to know so he can make a decision about her without coming out of the house and finding out from the papers or from someone else.

I think it was the best/nicest thing for her to do tbh.

I really dislike Helen but in this instance I think she definitely done the decent thing, especially when a possible showmance is due to happen between them I also disagree that Ash is shallow, he hasn't done anything in the house to make me think that and when Helen was bitching about Kimberly last night he was prodding her for a more in depth reason instead of just taking everything she said as fact and agreeing with her.

From what she said it sounds like the other person involved told all, the press found out about it one way or the other so she decided to make money out of it.

Yeah I was just coming back to post this, I'm watching again and she did sell stories but she said it was after it was already out.

She also admits that before all that she herself did tell people she was close too about the 'famous' clients which would break the confidential agreement she has with them too.

My point was that a prostitute is going to be far more aware of their sexual health than the average joe on the street who never gets checked unless they have to.
