View Full Version : Completely pointless first nomination?
That nomination was pretty pointless IMO?
Christopher just received the least votes to evict in a 6 way vote?

He may have had more than Ash tbf
But no given the amount of time they had and the lack of privacy to make the decision it's not really fair to criticise it.
That was pretty pathetic when they both went into the toilet to discuss it out, its a ****ing gameshow.. why can't people just have some balls and nominate straight away for once instead of all that ****.. Ruins the viewing for me sometimes knowing contestants can get away with things like that but yes i agree with Josy it was very weird considering he got cheers and most certainly got the least votes.. Surely they know putting a fan favourite up for eviction is a bad idea, stupid move

And that is why he was nominated as neither wanted to make a proper nomination, good call I thought

Poor Christopher, really feel for him. It'll be great for him surviving all of these evictions knowing the public is on his side though.

Its a game show but they didn't even get anytime to discuss strategy. BB should of went to a break then came back and asked for a decision.

Well to be fair, he got the least/2nd least amount of votes this week, he'll be up against a different set of people next week so he may not be the safest again.

Why can't they just discuss in front of everyone there and then? going into the toilet like bellends doesn't make good tv

Thought it was a good decision in the circumstances, first saved and cheered so easily explained

Completely agree with this. Was very disappointed, especially from Toya as she likes to come across as having balls and saying it like it is

Time to lock the toilet during live shows. They can piss themselves.
Why would it be foolish? At least they are saying everything to their faces then instead of in the toilet which IMO makes them look worse
I still think it was a completely pointless nomination, he had cheers and was saved early on so clearly has a decent fan base, Toya mentioned Chris in the toilet too iirc and then changed it to Christopher.

Maybe they did it to try and make an inoffensive first choice so they could explain it away with "He won't go anyway, he's popular". Rather than having to make a hard decision on the spot.
Which is completely hypocritical of Toya after that business with the farm task. :joker:
Toya dislikes Christopher though, we all know that so that excuse wont wash..
Love how all the housemates who were taking the piss out of Christopher and Marlon for not having any bollocks and not choosing someone in that task won't say a word to Toya

Because is a social game show and discussing who to evict in front of everyone is just sabotaging your own game and it could also influence the future nominations of the other housemates because they can hear them discussing nominations.

Not really. If you want to to see your least fave/competition evicted you pit them against somebody you know the public love. Makes perfect sense in a strategy. And of course you don't discuss your strategy in front of everyone, your strategy remains close at all times, sharing it would leave you wide open. Silly people on here sometimes.

It was strategic, he hasn't really got close ties in the house. It can't backfire against them as per say.

They never even had a strategy, the two of them were mumbling wrecks because they were put on the spot.
Spineless hm's.
And also Toya came out with some bull**** afterward that she doesn't think Christopher being in the house is good for him so they stuff about it being a strategic vote is nonsense.

What they should have done and what I would have done, was to nominate someone who hadn't been up yet thereby justifying themselves by saying they just picked someone who had not yet been up for eviction.
That would have made far more sense than this one

They can't have expected them to come to an agreement in front of everyone in the space of 30 seconds... they must be crazy.
They should've done it like how Chris did it and tell them a few hours before what they'd have to do.

I guarantee you now most of them would have been just as "spineless" with their decision. It's so easy to say 'Oh I would have done this and done that" yet most people put on the spot actually wouldn't (slightly different but running forum games similar to this proves just that as I have seen). You have to live in a house and try to survive, being "gutless" gets you only so far as we saw with Pauline.
I'm not even a Toya fan but people need to start thinking more about the future weeks of BB. This time they wanted game playing and sneaks, and we need to keep a few for the final o we will end up with the deadwood being the final 4 weeks which is dull as hell. We need people that we love to hate as well as people we love.

Toya is always telling everyone that she's not afraid to say it how it is and she just completely done the opposite of that but anyway.. there is a lot of posts in this threads saying it was strategic when it clearly wasn't.
I stand by my initial opinion that its a complete waste of a nom.

BB bosses tell us that the Power Couple will continue to rule the house over the weekend and “influence nominations”, whatever that means, which will take place on Sunday.
But there’s another twist to come as, unlike the other Power housemates, Toya and Matthew are not safe.

Put on the spot makes things very different. Doesn't make her spineless, it means she had to make a snap decision. Guaranteed most of the house would have reacted in a similar way. People's hate of Toya is clouding their judgements.

I disagree Ben, like I said above Toya is always the first to point out that she will say what she really wants to, she's bringing a storm and so on, well we have all seen her bitch nonstop about Kimberly these past couple of days so her first thought was probably to nominate her, she just backed out of doing it.
And I don't hate Toya so not sure why that last comment is stuck on to the end of your post.

I wouldn't think it would either but that's the general consensus in there now judging by the BOTS clips. They chose him because they know he's popular.
They don't seem to have twigged that choosing a potentially very popular housemate puts whoever's up next at a huge risk of eviction.
They never even had a strategy, the two of them were mumbling wrecks because they were put on the spot.

What I meant by that comment was that if Toya was this strong willed person she tries to put across to us then she wouldn't have been like that.
I have no doubt in my mind that she wanted to nominate Kimberly (and probably still will) but instead of having the backbone to do as she wanted she crumbled.
Matthew I can understand the nervousness because he allways seems to be like that.

But you can disagree all you want, but put on the spot nobody has time to think about what they will do or what would be best to do. You have 30 seconds, that is not enough time to fully think about anything, so you make snap decision there and then (you go with whatever strategy you rush to mind at that instant). It may not be logical but at that time of pressure it seems it. If she had been given an hour then the choice probably would have been different. And no offence but you come across as being clouded by your hate of Toya.

Anyway, I do still disagree because I think if someone was put on the spot and like you say make a snap decision then they would automatically choose someone they disliked in the house, in Toya's case that would be Kim because she's the most recent housemate she had a problem with.

Not pointless Josy, an observation that comes across quite glaringly. And also how do you know her biggest problem is with Kimberley, because the highlights showed you? I am a Kimberley fan, but don't be so naive to just go by what the highlights feed you. She may not like her the most but she may have other plans with trying to survive, we have no idea because we are shown so little. Her choice has been made and made on the spot, being put on the spot you can make rash choices.

Fair enough if you think I hate Toya but adding that opinion on to the end of every comment adds nothing to the discussion.
And I don't just watch the highlights, I watch all of the clips that we get throughout the day and see all of the twitter updates but what makes it's pretty obvious that she has a problem with Kimberly is that she Toya herself said has a problem with her.

I'm not denying she has a problem with Kim but how do you know that is he biggest beef? The highlights/clips/twitter only give us so much. For all we know Toya may have a bigger agenda (same with every housemate) that we are not shown. When it comes to nominations not everyone targets those they hate, some target those they see as biggest threats, hence playing the game. Those you hate may be your weakest rivals, what would be the point in putting them up? Or they may be the target that everyone wants to go for, remove the target and it could soon fall on your back, so again you need to keep the target in. Without sounding patronising (sorry if I do) but from a gameplay point of view do you get what I mean?

The only other hm she had a problem with was Matthew and Christopher and she spoke to both of them about it the other day I'm pretty sure if there was any other dramas we would be shown.
And yes I do get what you mean I have done all the way through the discussion but Toya has already explained to Christopher why she nominated him and it was apparently because she thinks it's no good for him to stay in the house. If you are saying they never had a chance to think before nominating because they were put on the spot then how could choosing Christopher be part of a bigger agenda?
Marsh.

If she had a "bigger" beef with Christopher then it would take precedence over the other beef for highlights surely?

Not if the producers deem it unworthy. Look at last year, Sophie and sam had beef and we never saw any of it until near the end of the season, yet it was there throughout but because other stuff was happening then it was overlooked.

Yes but we're not talking about two background housemates who've taken a dislike to one another whilst overshadowed by others we're talking about Toya. She's been one of the most prominent.
But I do think there is an editing issue, several times Toya's kicked off and I couldn't figure out what it was about or where it came from.
