View Full Version : Power Housemates shouldn't be up for eviction

Not a major fan of Toya or Matthew but I completely disagree with one of them being up. Seems such a ridiculous and half-baked "twist" from BB.
Vicky.
20-06-2014, 11:47 PM
I actually agree. But meh, they make terrible decisions every year, used to it now
Don't really like the idea of a power couple either...nor telling the house who the power housemate is, as they are less likely to be honest with their choices

I liked the idea of a Power Coupe to see if they'd actually work well together. Hate this "twist".
I'm a Toya fan but to be fair Matthew should be put up because he is not going to be evicted therefor they will both be safe as a Power Couple.
It's the most stupid thing they have ever done
Marsh.
20-06-2014, 11:53 PM
It is stupid but I knew it would happen eventually.
They love doing a complete U-turn on everything. Hence why everyone, even inside the house, didn't take Helen's pass to the final that seriously because they know a twist will arise whereby it could be taken away or changed.
It'll ensure none of them trust the "power" as power anymore.

Yes, the producers have decided they want Toya evicted so have engineered this whole thing to ensure she leaves.

He clearly meant after it was revealed that the Housemates voted her in. And also if she chose Helen, would that mean she'd automatically be up?
So many holes.

I hope the public get to decide who is up of the 2 of them, that way it should be Toya I would have thought.
Matthew would survive easily I think but Toya would be the one who would probably go.
For me that would be the best result in the end from this ridiculous twist.

You honestly believe that BB doesn't rig things? Why do you reckon that they revealed this twist after Toya was HOH? I bet this twist would not have existed if Jale or Kimberly was this weeks PHM.

I'm sure they do things to try and manipulate things, stir up trouble all the time.
But I thought the consensus on this forum was that BB tries their best to keep the louder people in longer? Like the twists that kept Charley in BB8 for two weeks longer than she would have otherwise.
On the subject of choosing winners, I don't think they do at all. They couldn't care less.
What reason is there for them to manipulate Toya out of the house?
Jale is never allowed to be the Power Housemate so your logic is flawed. If they were protecting her they're not doing a very good job.

It's defiently to get her out. I don't think the housemates would have put her up for a while. They already have Helen, so they don't need her. Then Helen will win the public's love and they will hate Jale.

Lol probably. I even though the housemates voting was a rig to SAVE Toya but I guess I was wrong.
Also for example: I really didn't like Dan last year but thought that the twist was extremely cruel and unfair even though it meant his eviction.
Marsh.

The conspiracy could've gone either way but there is nothing to be gained from them wanting her out.
Vicky.
21-06-2014, 12:13 AM
I really don't see why BB would want to get her out...
Its not for money, as if she stayed longer she would get more disliked (if she stayed the same) and that would be more money when she was finally up
I can't see it being because people are moaning shes a 'bully' (dont see that myself btw) because they would just give her a warning, ala helen
And they do twist things usually to KEEP the argumentative ones in
Its a pretty garbage twist but I'm guessing they can't be immune because theres two this time and also for the other twist of having one of them go up.
I don't ever believe any conspiracies about the producers 'rigging' things tbh it has no concern to them who goes and who doesn't and normally most people say the producers try to save the controversial housemates so claiming that this twist was somehow thought up to get rid of Toya is just massively reaching IMO.

Money...it would be a gamble for them. Right now people would call a million times to evict Toya, two weeks from now...she might turn it around or people might stop overracting when it comes to her.
So they might want to go for the safe bet, they hate her now. They will call a million times to evict her.

I don't mean ratings, I've learned people say every year that they will stop watching if x or y happens but they will never stop watching.
However complains of bullying are flying like crazy.
I do think she is far more disliked then Helen and Pauline. Most of the threads in here are to say how much they hate Toya. People already know they can't touch Helen for now, so they don't waste their time hating her as much.

They like big personalities to leave most weeks because they get bigger ratings for their eviction interview, like for example people would watch a Toya eviction interview any day over an Ash eviction interview because she causes more discussion for the public.
And I know Jale can't get the PHM I was just using an example.

They all will be evicted/interviewed at one point or another so it's really no motivation for them to plot who they want out each week.
It's almost as daft as them choosing who they want to win.

Of course they choose who they want to win because whoever generates them the best headlines is the one they will push to win if they're relatively liked by the public in the first place that's why I think Kimberly will win because she'll be the first American winner of BBUK.

Granted. But that's not enough to say anything's definitely happening.
As I said, the person agreeing with you believed it was being rigged to save Toya. Now since the twist they believe it's rigged to lose Toya.
Conclusion - everything is rigged to do everything to you lot no matter what they do.
They want to save big characters, then they want to lose them, now they want them out early on, then they want them to win and on and on it goes.

...hmmm, I thought this myself as a knee-jerk reaction, that it was a dumb thing to do because it really mocks 'The Power' by making them vulnerable...but with afterthought I think it's good because quite often the public want the more awful characters to stay in the house because they spark discussions etc so this is the same thing to me..by doing this, these discussions/threads and general 'outrage' are being provoked so it has to be all good, yeah..?...

This twist seems to have been put on place once toya was chosen. It doesn't seem like it was planned. When they were voting for who they wanted as power housemate Helen was eligible to be chosen but because of this twist toya was unable to pick helen. Meaning they only decided on this twist when toya was chosen of that is making any sense. So do you reckon they purposely want toya up for eviction ??

I agree tbh. I'd still acknowledge how unfair the twist would be if people like Ashleigh and Winston were put in the same situation (although I'd be a lot happier about it).
In terms of rigging, I doubt it, but the producers definitely manipulate footage to create a more dramatic atmosphere, because for Big Brother: Drama + Controversy = Ratings. The editors will try and edit footage to paint certain housemates in a positive light and other housemates in a negative light. They won't go as far as to rig the voting, but the producers do have influence on how the public will perceive a housemate to be.
