..yeah, I do prefer it when it isn't like that and a contrast to CBB so we know nothing about them and just judge on their time in the house but I think it's probably because it's all set out more like a 'hero' and 'villain type thing now and they're more like storyline characters...welcome to the forum btw...

This type of show will always attract, for want of a better phrase 'fame *****s' who will have a long history of appearing in anything they can get on.

You had the same on the later days of C4.

Big Brother will generally attract those who have been in the media/on TV. Doesn't make then celebs by any mile though. They're just as 'normal' as anyone else. Most of them are normal people who have made a quick buck from a magazine or newspaper, or have appeared one off on a TV show or game show.

I didn't know any of them before BB but I'd heard of Helen.

Bring back the days of the dish washer; the unemployed guy aged 40 who lives with his mum.

The girl who works at McDonalds.

The 'housewife' who has three kids.

The spotty shy teenager straight out of college.

All of them no media connections. Never entered a TV or radio studio ever. In their normal lives.

Not even one line about them in either a newspaper or magazine.

Ah, the good old days. :)

Chris was the only one I knew before watching, but yeah I'd much prefer just regular joe's chucked in together. I guess they have specifically chosen this lot to fit in with the power trip theme and how those with power IRL react when they no longer have the power, but I'd much rather see the changes in dynamics of regular people.

This is very unfair acting in front of a camera for like 4 minutes a take is very different to being yourself 24/7 in front for like 50 cameras

It's because they tend to be more entertaining...

Yeah i think contestants are probably head hunted now rather than just selected from auditions. It's not the show it used to be,More like TOWIE now.
