View Full Version : You have 30 seconds to say your goodbyes..
Ok, Robocops thread about the eviction inspired me to make this one... I am the first person to defend Marcus when he gets crap on here but seriously...Emma tells the evictee 'you have 30 seconds to say your goodbyes'
Is it just me or does Marcus' voice start almost straight away saying 'Leave the house immediately' on repeat? in fact it's probably not even him to blame, he'sjust recording what he's told..
Is there really any need for that to get played over and over though when they are clearly going to leave the house anyway, it was really really doing my head in last night and taking my attention off of the housemates reactions to the eviction.

It's both unnecessary and extremely irritating. No one knows what's going on in these producers' heads.

I was waiting for it last night and I noticed as soon as Emma cut off from the house, Marcus immediately said "Pauline. You have been evicted. Please leave the Big Brother house" and then about 5 seconds later her said "PAULINE, PLEASE LEAVE THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE IMMEDIATELY" x5 or something :bored:

it was good when bb said it with the tense music because it actually felt dramatic and like it was leading up to something big
marcus' ridiculous voice on the other hand ruins the whole atmosphere

Yea its totally time they scrapped that announcement thing. By all means do it once. But not every 10 seconds or so. If they want them to leave immediately it would be quite entertaining to watch if they said to the HMs, if you do not leave immediately when you are evicted then we will send people in to get you, who could then forcibly eject them. Like the police do when you invade a pitch at a football game.
Alternatively they could just

The HGs just ignore the recording, which makes it rather less dramatic. After the first "immediately" is ignored, they should turn sprinklers on them or warn that if she's not out in ten seconds they'll lose hot water for 48 hours or some other privilege.

I didn't think of it like that. Yeah the old voice and tension music was simple and was a build up to what was about to happen but now we get Marcus screaming right up until the door opens and it all feels a bit of a let down.
Surely after 3 years of fans taking a disliking to it you would think they would take notice.

This was glorious  ffs why did they change something that was already perfect.
Tbh right now I would rather the housemates left in silence like other most country's bb's than have Marcus bellowing over them.

He just needs to have less involvement with the live shows, whenever I hear him on the live shows I can't help but get annoyed.

Some years ago, I think it was BB5, a housemate, Kitten, refused to move (I'm not sure if she refused to leave the house) but until she left or conformed to what BB requested, BB reduced every so many minutes (or seconds) the prize money, so maybe this might be the 'hurry up and leave the house,' as the money is being reduced.

It was annoying to hear so many times from Marcus the instruction to leave the house, however it seemed as usual that Pauline wasn't listening anyway.
I actually think there should be a further 5 minutes when a housemate is evicted before they are told to leave the house, not make it such a rushed affair.

It was stupid, no consideration for us viewers. I plan to mute it next time.

It's not as if Pauline was taking the piss though, she was given 30 seconds and Marcus just started screaming after like 5 seconds.

They really need to get rid of Marcus doing that bit and just have a BB voice do it.. far better. Having 30 seconds and the "you have been evicted, please leave the Big Brother house" from the BB voice sounded far more dominating and pushed housemates to get out (as the repetition would get on their tits).
Marcis just sounds like he's shouting through a large crowd, it's even almost comical.

Yes, it was so annoying! Thought I was the only one bugged by it.
