From the BBC website (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/5344892.stm)
The distant world whose discovery prompted leading astronomers to demote Pluto from the rank of "planet" has now been given its own official name.
Having caused so much consternation in the International Astronomical Union (IAU), the object has been called Eris, after the Greek goddess of discord.
And
Eris has a moon, and this too now has an official name: Dysnomia, the daughter of Eris known as the spirit of lawlessness.

Eris has a lot to answer for
But nah, "he" caused astronomers and scientists to re-think classifications of things that are dwarf planets/part of the kieper belt etc.
Erm, im rather confuzzled
I don not ''get'' planets :nono:

It's a new 'planet' that was discovered in 2003 that has been named Eris, and it's moon which is now called Dysnomia.
The original names, given to them by the astronomers that found them, were Xena and Gabrielle out of Xena: Warrior Princess. :spin2:
Ahhhh now I get it!
Thanks James

Eris is bigger than (134340) Pluto which caused all the argument in the astronomical community which lead to the vote in Prague to demote both of them to "Dwarf Planet " status
