View Full Version : What is Chris doing in BB?

He is nice, balanced, polite, intelligent, funny and his social skills are great. I don't understand what he is doing in BB. He would be someone I could see myself hanging out with. Usually BB goes for people who are either too prudish or too out there. I think he's in there for the social experiment, so he can watch people's behaviours.

I agree. He is like one of us rather than a HM. He watches the HM's behavior from a distance (like us) then he gives his opinions about them in the DR (like we do on this forum).

I enjoy his comments...he's always right about them.

Chris would fit in nicely in the good old days of Big Brother, BB1-BB4

i think its great they have him in there - a breath of fresh air.
i am sure there is more of him to come and i think it will be good. we all have a limit and i think it is approaching with chris and even feel the explosion will be in his favvour as like we say - he is normal.

I like his style. He is more like an observer, and I agree with the comment about fitting in well with the original BBs. I think you need at least one person like Chris in there. Too many drama queens and attention seekers is just not good telly.

He's a nice guy but you don't see much of him now.

Chris is probably the best singer in there. Although Toya would probably disagree and claim that honour for herself
We need Chris in there to being us some sanity and normality. The HM's are so wound up and the atmosphere so tense that it can get uncomfortable. Then we see Chris casually strolling by two HM's who are going at it hammer and tongs and he has a little tolerant smile on his face and it's like "Whew! There's Chris, and he doesn't give a monkey's!"
It's like he's living in a parallel universe in there. There is him in his own sane world and everyone else in the crazy loony bin created by a few HM's but which doesn't touch him. He observes their world from the safety of his own.
It's a brilliant contrast and it could win him the show. :bouncy:

Looking at his background as an actor & going back to his launch night VT, I suppose the producers put him in there because they thought he'd be like the usual BB lot (the whole "I'll pee in the sink, sit in the corner & call everyone names" thing).
As for Chris' own motives for wanting to be in there, I agree with you. His take on the HMs, and his DR entries are always a highlight for me- he seems to be in the house as an observer. I'm always looking for signs of him trying to influence the actions/thoughts of other HMs, but so far I haven't found any.

He's good with some of his comments but thinks far too much of himself.

Good post Jet
Explains it perfectly.
He reminds me of Martin Freeman's character 'Tim' in 'The Office' for those same reasons - it's almost like he knows what the viewers are thinking. Our man on the inside, sort of thing.

Chris has that awkward persona that BB love so much, and maybe he needs a confidence boost and some money to pay the bills.

He seems a really nice genuine guy, I really like listening to his views of the other HM's when he's in the DR, I would like to see him winning or at the very least coming 2nd.

He is wonderfully normal. Bet he writes a book afterwards!
He's keeping under the radar, in with a good chance of winning too. :-)
