:shocked:I didn't know you had to change a nom every week. The way I see it is if you are trying to get someone through then you have to keep trying rather than give up.

However, I will make sure I change at least one nom a week,the problem is you change a name and then that week had you not, one of the people you felt should get through doesn't because that week you didn't nominate them.

I wasn't intending it at him he just happened to respond to my comment, and I never said people had to vote for somebody who post a gif, but it's clear some people stick to just their friends (the same 3/4 people), no matter how much they would like to deny it. They vote the same people everytime this is on.

Difference is I don't just vote those closest to me, this isn't ML. And we don;t need to get on, it makes no difference to me if we do or don't. But as you say, if I have something to say I'll say it.

There are definitely some people that just vote for their friends, yes (Joey's not one of them), which isn't really in the spirit of the game but then I don't feel like it'd be a good idea to put rules in place to prevent the majority who don't because someone raised a good point in that well the same couple of people may have just been the best contributors two weeks in a row? It wouldn't really be in the spirit of the game to prevent that, and also another good point was that sometimes it's good to vote for the same person because they almost made it the week before but didn't quite get there, I don't know though :think: I see both sides but ultimately I don't think it'd be worthwhile to put rules in place when I think most people vote fairly, obviously it's up to you though Shaun

From my perspective, it's boring to run. It's disappointing seeing everything turn out the same every week. And in past experience I've been privy to evidence of many of these people voting tactically and encouraging people to vote in a certain way. The poll of last series' final proves that.

Maybe it's just because I'm used to running it and therefore am picking up on trends and recurring habits but I do feel that members will routinely vote a group of friends they absolutely already had prior to the series started and new posters rarely get a look in.

So yeah, I will be establishing a "vote 3 new people" rule from next week... obviously those who have a problem with this can either just:

a) vote 3 people one week, and another 3 the next, and just flip between these because they're sad
b) take it up with a therapist or something

I mean, there are hundreds of BB posters, I'm not asking miracles. Just widen the net and give other people a chance.

Thank you very much Josy and Shaun,please retract my earlier post as to the week I went through and my votes for this event from now.

I will stick with this event for this series of BB and then wait and see if the 'rules' change for future series.

I have probably overreacted but the comments as to voting for friends and changing one nom a week only followed my recent list of votes I noticed.

I vote for people who have, in my view, made a full and good contribution to the forum,if however 'artificial voting' and therefore 'artificial results are what is wanted in this event in the future then it will not be for me.'

However as far as I can see, I have voted in accordance fully with your rules and all the opening post on the event too.


If people are asked to take part in such an event, they have to have the right to make their own choices and minds up for themselves not be dictated how to vote or even who for.
It is their votes after all.That is just my opinion.

People vote to try to get people through, how can rules and goalposts be moved midway through an event.
Personally, I think you are wrong to do that but it is your game and your right I guess but I think that will be to the detriment of the event and lead to less taking part.

Well I guess, but I think there are clearly more than just 2 or 3 members deserving of a nomination in a week :laugh: Like in that instance, I would just say "open your eyes", really. I actually toss around 10-15 names in a week... I tend to give BB15's forum a quick glance-over to see who stands out, and if there're any notable TiBB events (like the world cup threads, or a forum game, or whatever) I might give them attention. But there're so many possible members to choose and usually at the end of a round I've got a list of only twenty who've picked up votes. It's a bit sad, really (and not sad as in 'pathetic' as I implied earlier, which by the way I apologise for. I got snappy.)

I don't think I have yet seen a set of votes, and there haven't been that many sets of votes this time round, where the people voted for haven't made a good and full contribution to the forum overall.

I see no problem with it as it was going.

I took issue because the 'friends' comments and 'changing one nom a week' comment was made immediately after my latest set of noms.
I have rarely voted for Jords in this event, I have this time round for instance.

You said it right, have it flowing naturally and what happens, happens.
Trying to manipulate and dictate how votes should be made by installing new rules now when it is up and running will far from have it flowing naturally,in fact it will do the opposite in my view.

It is however your game, so when old rules, or proposed new ones from next week are in place, it is then for members themselves to decide for themselves after that if it is worth them bothering to vote at all, if they are not then able to vote how and for who they would wish to.

But it's so obvious certain people just stick to voting their friends in a bid to win each week. Once or twice is fine but they do it all the bloody time.

Thank you very much Josy and Shaun,please retract my earlier post as to the week I went through and my votes for this event from now.

I will stick with this event for this series of BB and then wait and see if the 'rules' change for future series.

I have probably overreacted but the comments as to voting for friends and changing one nom a week only followed my recent list of votes I noticed.

I vote for people who have, in my view, made a full and good contribution to the forum,if however 'artificial voting' and therefore 'artificial results are what is wanted in this event in the future then it will not be for me.'

However as far as I can see, I have voted in accordance fully with your rules and all the opening post on the event too.


If people are asked to take part in such an event, they have to have the right to make their own choices and minds up for themselves not be dictated how to vote or even who for.
It is their votes after all.That is just my opinion.

But there are plenty of people on here who are contributing well during BB, this isn't about winning, it's about reconsigning members for standing out during BB. Some people just like to vote their friends though and stick with the same 3/4 members each time. I'm sure more than 3 or 4 people impress them each week.

I made this point at the start of last years BB Noms asking why it was called BB Nominations, as none of the winners of the past BB nominations were people who actually posted regularly during BB but off season members and it went down like a lead balloon, so I haven't bothered voting anyone this time round.
