BB UK is over

BB UK is over after this year's Power Trip, I think. Bad theme, bad housemates, bad ratings. Like said on the ratings thread, advertisers and investers aren't interested in official ratings because it doesn't necessarily mean what they want viewed (their ads) are being viewed. I think BB UK is over for at least a few years, however maybe Celebrity will continue as a summer event like I'm a Celeb is in the winter? They don't necessarily have to invest a lot into it, they could keep the house the same but decorate it differently every year. I can't see Channel 5 getting rid of Celebrity Big Brother, but I don't think they'd batter an eyelid dumping civilian.

Yes but this year may be the last straw. They've invested so much and put a lot into the 'Power Trip' theme and it hasn't paid off. I think it'll become Channel 5's Big Brother 8 (although I do love Big Brother 8).

They need a mass clear out in my opinion, two doubles or one triple to make me happy, and then throw in some halfway housemates in any form they want as long as they spice up the series. (As long as they don't just do a bedsit where housemates play pranks until they enter the house).

I actually hope it does end. Big Brother 11/Ultimate Big Brother felt like the end of an era, this just feels like I'm watching the long rotted corpse of something that was once great and even when crap still fairly decent. I certainly won't miss it.

I made one thread last night about how I missed Big Brother 5- Big Brother 7, and obviously I'm going to reference Channel 4 a lot considering this is the first Channel 5 series I've watched. I've been quite positive about Power Trip until now.

I know the new housemates talk is getting boring, but if they got two females and a male like BB6 to come in now BB15 would be a lot better. Kinga and Orlaith really spiced things up when it was just going to be Makosi and Vanessa left if Orlaith hadn't come in.

I'd advise maybe watching the 12, 13 and 14 launch shows and seeing which one grabs you from the start. For me, 13 was just people too unlikeable for me to enjoy it.

This series is getting pretty boring, but I agree with most people that the Big Brother legacy died a long time ago.

Hopefully Viacom may be some form of saving grace, although we'll probably still have the same production team making the show tacky as can be. When I see some of the team members who work behind the scenes on BOTS it's just so obvious why the show is going downhill.

Anyway, I think one of the main problems with Chris is that he's pretty isolated from everyone. He gives good DRs and he's really spot on with his observations but he's not attached to anyone so he plays no role in the dynamics whatsoever. I think he'd probably be a better character if he had someone to bounce off of.
