View Full Version : Is the crowd ruining the show?

They always seem to be so out of touch with the general opinion and are always different to how the forums feel.

This is the same crowd that was chanting "get Jenny in" last week and then when Ashleigh fulfilled the role of hating on Helen, she gets heavily booed for it.

They just don't make sense anymore, and they really take the enjoyment out of evictions too. Especially when they're chanting OFF OFF OFF when they've actually come out of their way to go and watch an eviction.

Yes, they either need to go back to what they did in BB9/BB10 with talking to the house from the interview studio or have a BBCA studio

Yes they have so far apart from last night, I couldn't hear anything from them whilst Emma was interviewing Matthew, Its nasty to chant 'off', I know pauline and Toya were disliked by some people, but It gives them no right to chant that, what has Toya or Pauline done to them? Nothing, they should so consideration and let the interview progress without disturbing it.

Only for those that are pissed off at the moment that they keep backing losers.
The crowd has always been the same it only becomes an issue when the toys get thrown out of the pram and people want to get prissy about their fave getting the boot.

Yes because it gives the hm's information(sometimes wrong) on how they should be acting in there,Too much contact.

I personally don't think it's pantomime, I think some of them literally hate & despise some housemates

Oh well, they are encouraged at evictions to chant and boo and I suppose it's up to them what they do.

Yeah, but it's so tiresome, booing use to be rare/used properly. Now even the likes of Christopher are getting booed, it's just so weird

I think most of the boos when Christopher was named was just leftover boos for Ash tbh

Not at all true, people don't watch for the crowd

BBUSA worked completely fine with no crowd, and the rating stayed completely steady

They're ruining the show for Me because I don't hm's to have to go into the house having to hear boos and verbal abuse, or come out to the same-who are they to judge? none of the crowd are saints and they don't even know the people they're booing fgs.

They're just a bunch of powerless morons who just want to laugh at someone and be aggressive and get away with it. They should get rid of the lot, maybe just keep the indoor ones (who seem more civilised) or make the outside crowd just clap and not verbally abuse hms.

No but the crowd is made of the people who watch the show, see? Jeez

If nobody bothered to turn up to the live evictions the show would be cancelled in a heartbeat.

channel 5 seem to believe the only people watching the show are the crowd, and completely forget that there is an audience at home.
hence why the eviction shows are a complete shambles.

No! They're small fry

The script writers and the editors ruined the show years ago.

The only thing that annoys me about the crowd is when they chant "OFF! OFF! OFF!" During the interviews. The "Get *name* Out!" chants aren't that bad most of the time.

The crowd have been overbearing for the past few years.

Especially since they adopted 'OFF OFF OFF OFF' you've gone to an eviction night you ****ing stupid inbred kuhnts. An interview is going to take place. We want to hear it, bore off.

Flamingjoe

I definitely think the crowd is ruining the show. Eviction nights are meant to have a huge build-up to them with a great amount of anticipation and excitement for them from the audience. The crowd normally make me a lot less excited for each eviction, because I know that they'll just have to chant to get someone out. It doesn't help that their opinions are normally terrible either.

Not only are they ruining everything from a fan's perspective, they're also affecting how the housemates behave in the house. I seriously do not know how I will be able to cope with Helen thinking that she's won over the public and that everyone is on her side in her feud with Ashleigh.

IMO, they need to do evictions in a studio where the crowd cannot be heard, like in BB9 and BB10.

The crowd is disgusting :yuk:

They boo everyone, it's so boring and predictable. The constant negativity is so draining and completely unnecessary. I've watched both seasons of BB Canada recently and their respectful, cheering audience is miles ahead of our lot.

BUT if Ash had come out last night, some, people would have loved the crowd, the booing is annoying but its always been like that.

"They always seem to be so out of touch with the general opinion and are always different to how the forums feel."

Actually it's the forums that are out of touch with the general opinion as shown by who gets evicted every week.

I was @ the 1st eviction and your right the crowd are definitely encouraged to make as much noise as possible, ie shouting for the one u like, chanting for the one u don't. Theres a guy whose job it is to get the crowd going. It would be a bit boring if the crowd was silent like. Its all part of the atmosphere.

Well I think that when Emma talks to the house they should quieten the crowd down to avoid outside contact like they did in BB11. I do think that the crowd boos too much though

I wish they were not there period, let the housemates be clueless about how there are seen on outside, if they did that for one season if would be a classic, if the the producers want change things that really would do it.

It doesn't. How many people make up the crowd? 30? Popping in on their way home from Tesco.

BB9 and 10 was indoors but it was back outdoors for the last C4 series as far as I remember.

I prefer interviews on BOTS because HM's tend to open up and feel more relaxed in the smaller atmosphere.

The good thing about C4 evictions were how they would briefly face the large crowd, get their reaction whether it's good or bad and then go to a secluded studio for an interview, with a welcoming crowd. It makes more sense to have it like that because large crowd's chanting can be really intimidating rather than it being 'panto'. It also ruins it for the viewers who have invested in spending time to watch this HM, and finally getting to hear what they have to say about their experience.

I feel sorry for Emma because I feel that she could conduct good interviews in a smaller studio where there are no disruptions.

I remember the studio thing in BB9. Not sure if it was done every eviction though(?)

I liked the whole reveal being done in silence, didn't give anything away to housemates.

I'd much rather they stopped telling the house who got the fewest votes and is therefore the most popular, tbh.

Yeah, BB9 was entertaining in that aspect because they had no idea who was popular or not so quite a lot of the evictions were huge shocks to them. They weren't forewarned with crowd reactions.

I'd much rather they stopped telling the house who got the fewest votes and is therefore the most popular, tbh.

Definitely this. I also wish Emma would just speak normally.

Trying to force some kind of cheesy catchphrase doesn't work and sounds stupid. Just tell them "This is Emma. The lines are closed and I can now reveal......" without all that filler sh*te.

CaudleHalbard
07-07-2014, 11:49 AM
Reveal should be done in silence. A big thing is made about no contact with the outside world. But the crowd reaction to the names being called out by Emma surely goes against that?

The only bit that annoys me is when they shout over the interview of the evictee - the rest doesn't really bother me as I've got used to it now.
