Withdraw it, then phone the bank and tell them someone stole my card :eureka:

Nah I would alert the bank and tell them money that does not belong to me has appeared in my account.

But when you have spent all
the Council would employ PI's
would make you pay back every penny you stole.

I would tell the bank, it belongs to someone else, and they might really need the money, I don't.

This actually happened to my ex boyfriend...He worked for LV and they accidently paid him £250,000 ....he freaked out and obviously told them, but he did ask his boss what would have happened if he hadn't checked his payslip and just spent money without checking his account ....they said he would of had to have paid it back once they realised the money was missing otherwise it would be classed as theft!!!

Shaun

I love the power banks have over society  that this is classed as theft rather than gross negligence.

Is this how embezzlement works.... people move money around from account to account untill it gets 'lost'?

I think so, and also they take a little from a lot of accounts and hope no one notices.

I have occasionally had emails from the Nigerian government that I am owed 8,000,000 dollars and I always ignore them so I imagine I would just ignore the 50k as well

Kizzy
06-07-2014, 01:32 AM
Ah so potentially your account could be being used as a 'store room' for money creamed from lots of accounts?
It is unfair that if you unwittingly spent some you could be charged with theft, although it is stolen money... I bet this kind of thing happens more often than we know.

Something similar happened to me a few months ago, but for a lot less money, but a lot more money than I'd ever seen in my life, but it did end up mine, but I was ****ting myself about even touching it. (Even if it paid off my overdraft :P)
