The reason why the show is getting to the low 1 million viewers is quite simple. Reality TV is no longer a case of choosing members of the public for a show, not anymore, it is a breeding ground for professional reality wannabees that cant break into the mainstream media world on their own merrits.

This means we get force fed media *****s that follow a designed formula for winning.

This year we have Rylans mate, the fake and annoying Mark. Chris has a pre determined plan which is holding up because he has the producers in his pocket. Helen is there as a bitch and isnt disapointing. Ashleigh has a pushy mum with designs of dollars for her skanky plastic cindy doll daughter. Winston is a Towie wanabee. Kimberly is managed by a playboy manager and her live in BF who urges her to shag for fame. Steven is a potless live at home millionaire. Danielle is a Dexter managed wanabee and Marlon lied about his age to get into the show.

No longer is the show full of normal people, these latest bunch of tossers are scripted and media savvy so we are not dealing in real life experiences anymore and the GBP are sick of being force fed crappy storylines and scammer back stories, so they are switching off.

What I don't understand is why don't they just open it up to the public? I'm talking live feeds and open it up to the world and not just the UK. I'm from the US and I would gladly pay for a live feed in a heartbeat.

Also, why not put them all up every week and let the public decide who stays and who gets the boot. At that point, you'd have a lot more folks buying votes b/c since you have all of them up. Maybe even put up tasks, rewards, punishments up to a vote as well.

Wouldn't that increase their revenue? It's transparency and unbiased editing is what most people want. Not this manipulated, forced storyline bull**** we see now.

Big Brother UK 15 and World Cup 2014 Brazil.

The World Cup Football Tournment 2014 Brazil has been wreaking havoc
with Big Brother 15 transmissions - it was the same with World Cup 2006
and World Cup 2010,and vice versa.
Many people,who watch Big Brother do not want to miss the World Cup football matches,and at the same time they do not want to miss Big Brother UK,so this conflict splits the audience.I watched the first half of the semi final between Brazil v Germany - Germany won 7-1 !,but at 10 pm I watched
Big Brother and caught up with the second half during advertisement breaks,then watched Big Brother's Bit On The Side.......
No wonder that Big Brother 15 viewing figures are relatively down compared to last year's Big Brother UK ratings.
For me,Big Brother UK is just as interesting in 2014 as it was in 2006 when I first became a Big Brother Fan:cheer2:

I think the main reason BB lost viewers over the years is because they started choosing cartoon characters rather than normal people. The series with the highest ratings were the early years of BB, the early years with NORMAL people and natural dynamics. That was the reason I watched BB1. I watched about 90% of BB1-BB9 and around 20% of BB10-BB14.

I disagree about The World Cup having a huge effect on BB viewing figures!:nono:
Viewing figures are down, in my opinion, because they picked a very sub-par (and that's being generous!) bunch of housemates, put very little thought or imagination into the tasks and 'twists' and the manipulation through editing and tampering with the course of events in the house has been worse than ever!
I haven't gone to the C5 BB page even once this year where in previous years i'd usually have a look at least once a day. I've also missed some of the nightly episodes for no other reason than i haven't remembered or even cared that it's on a lot of the time!:shrug::sleep:

Back in the day i was pretty much in a constant state of arousal and utter excitement from the second the first launch night episode aired until the second the winner left the house (and i'd still be super excited afterwards waiting for the following Sunday afternoon's 'BB Reunion Episode'!!!!.........and sometimes even the following week's "Winner's Story" special...if i liked the winner that year!).:cheer2:

This year's 'thing' doesn't even deserve to carry the 'Big Brother' name in its title because it's just a very pale (verging on transparent!) imitation of the real thing. If this was the 1970's the current BB series would be made in Hong Kong, have dangerous sharp bits of wire inside it, eyes that fall off when chewed and be painted with pure lead paint!!!! It's a bloody knock-off, a shoddy bootleg and someone needs to put it through a shredder!:facepalm:
