I don't think he needs to apologise but good for Marlon.

He does know why he did it...he wanted to stay!
What amazed me the most is that he got to speak for 1 minute and 46 seconds with no interruptions, no one butting in, i think in the distance i saw a tumble weed!

God Ashleigh can't do a thing right with you....she can't even look at people now. Remember Ashleigh knows that marlons saving himself jeopardises her position in the house....why shouldn't she have a look on her face...give the girl a break.
What makes me laugh is Helen and someone else saying it was awkward and he didn't have to do that....we'll perhaps if they hadn't given him a hard time over it...he wouldn't have had to make a grovelling apology.

before Steven and Ashleigh accepted their messages they clarified that there would be tasks to replenish the battery, we didn't see any of it apart from Mark giving up his beauty products though.
Cherie they still all drained the battery for selfish reasons, none of them were interested in how many chances there would be to replenish the energy and none of them asked what kind of thing would need to be done to get energy back or who would have to do it.
I don't really get how people are saying what Marlon done was selfish when every single one of the housemates done it.

they would of passed it if marlon didnt press the button soo....
They would have passed if everybody else didn't drain the battery too. Stephen and Ashleigh drained 25%. Danielle 20%
Marlon drained 10%, he's worse how?
If the others were so bothered about food, they wouldn't have accepted their treats.

It doesn't matter what Ashleigh said  Christopher was clearly telling her to press the button.
nope it could mean anything :spin: the housemates would of been annoyed with him otherwise

Yep I agree one of them would definitely have pressed the button in the time they had.

So. My point stands, they weren't bothered about draining it so have no right to moan.

Had it been someone with "legendary" status like Victor or Marcus or Makosi pressing that button (which they definitely would have) we probably would have loved it. The difference is that they would have taken the **** that came afterwards and dealt with it with aplomb. I'm afraid poor Marlon just doesn't have what it takes in his personality to pull it off both with the HMs and the public. I haven't watched his apology yet but I felt sorry for him as soon as he pressed it. I knew it would end in tears and I knew they would be his. He's a goner next week, no doubt about it.

After seeing some of the footage today I feel a bit sorry for him as I feel he did it thinking Ash and Winnie would think he was amazing for it and they would all sit around back slapping each other afterwards, he said they had a convo about how they should all do stuff for themselves in the house, I think Marlon took it a bit too literally and thought his new found mates would support him, at least he knows he hasn't really made real friends in there now. Danielle seems to be the only one that spoke to him about it properly and asked how he was after the all blew up on him.

He shouldn't have bothered with an apology. They don't deserve one. This whole scenario is showing more about what the other housemates are like rather than Marlon. The way they are acting you would think that Marlon was caught looking at kiddie porn. All he did was press a button to save himself from eviction on a game show. None of the housemates liked him much BEFORE he pressed the button, not even his "mates". Now they have an excuse to be comfortable about how they feel about him

I don't like Marlon, he's boring, sexist, vain blah blah blah and I hate that he was Ashleighs only chance of staying this friday but having said that everyone else drained the battery all week lol why should he be the one made to feel bad about doing it when everyone else did it too, to get messages from home, spend time with their dog etc etc
Soooo Agree with you Niamh. What short memories some of the HMs have - did they forget that Steven and Ashleigh drained 25% of the battery by watching their mothers on screen. Winston & Christopher also drained some of the battety by doing the twitter messages and lets not forget that Jale, Kimberely and the big GOB Helen used up some of that percentage to watch the clips. So why are some of the HMs annoyed at Marlon (and I'm not a fan) because he used up the rest of the batter to save himself from eviction when all the others allowed the battery to be discharged so they could get to see what wanted, including Danielle with her dog, coco. All hypocrtics.
Niamh.

Also, they were telling Ashleigh to press the button two minutes before but then they vilified Marlon for doing just that? I don't know if it was a "friend" of mind did it I'd be happy they did : shrug: Danielle was so right in what she said to him after

Spot on - they should have apologised to Marlon for making him feel so insifignant and yet, as Niamh pointed out, they (HMs and Mark in particular) was willing Ashleigh to press the button to save herself. He was obviously not concerned if they had lost the budget if Ashleigh had pressed first. And then (again Mark in particular) to give Marlon a hard time for what he (Mark) wanted Ashleigh to do - maybe he (Mark) was more annoyed at Marlon for beating Ashleigh to the button. But Marlon whould deffo NOT have apologised.
