Just found this below, on another BB forum.... makes an interesting read and I think they make some valid points here...........

'' You know, I’m beginning to suspect that Pete is really rather ruthless, manipulative and self-serving instead of being the innocent, easily led and, frankly, unintelligent bumbling man-child that he acted on BB.

If he is, and perverse as it may sound, I would have way more respect for him because he will have played an incredible game for 13 straight weeks.

If fact, I’m beginning to think he may even be the single best game-player BB has ever had, even better and vastly more manipulative than Makosi. After all, she just had the HMs fooled but never us. In fact, the point at which when she tried to manipulate us is the exact moment she lost the show, i.e. the “I’m pregnant” stage-whisper to the camera in the love-loft.

Pete, on the other hand, may have played us all like idiots from the moment he first tumbled down those stairs. Even those of us who found him boring and were annoyed by the fact that he avoided confrontation….even when he caused it….and made (or rather appeared to make) judgements about other HMs based purely on nonsense said by other HMs, such as Lea, never called him manipulative.

However, he managed to avoid nomination, even though he had all the women driven completely nuts and fighting like cats over him. And, he never did a stroke of work in the house – except one spot of vacuuming which he turned into another ‘hilarious’ Norman Wisdom-style performance.

Plus, there was that rubbish about the spiral, his dead friend and the angels being dead if didn’t win. We should have twigged then that he was a manipulator because his friend was very much alive and breathing all the other times he’d auditioned for BB! And he’d already told us –variously - that he wanted to win for his mum and that he wanted to win for Tourettes. Which one was the real reason he wanted to win….could it have been exactly the same reason as all the rest….money and fame?

Finally, there was the puke-inducing ‘romance’ with Nikki. The pound signs must have been flashing in his eyes and all along everyone is blaming her for being the one leading him up the garden path….hmmm.

But, still, we weren’t accusing him of being manipulative.

We should have had a sense that something was up when he came lowest in the test for manipulation and was just so pleased about it. Anyone else might have picked up on the point that coming lowest on that test means that you’re the most gullible and will be of lower intelligence than virtually anyone else in the test group. It’s not something to be proud of….unless you set out to fool the test…..and succeeded. Hmm….

Maybe he even deserved to win….but not for the reasons that he’d like the world to continue thinking.''

Some very good points.

From day 1 I thought nice bloke. Really cool guy.
Voted for him to win like 7 times.

Now I really regret it.
He now 'loves' that Cherry girl.
Hes a silly little boy, and needs to grow up.

Dont think he has many fans anymore

Its not the break up.
Its the way he did it.
Hes now blissfully in love with that Cherry geezerbird.
Hes more immature than Nikki is, doesnt know the meaning of love, just throws it round like a ball.
Hes a selfish little boy

my opinion of him isnt really anything to do with the nikki situation (although I do think he acted like a total n*b), I have always thought he was a gameplayer, a bit sly and crafty, and very self aware; and if that is what he did do, and had everyone fooled, then he is a master at playing people off in order to acheive his win.

He suddenly fell in love with Nikki once he heard she had cheers. Then when she had boos, he went off her.

He ditched his best mate Bob and his band, and isnt on speaking terms with them anymore.

And hes sold stories about all of them.

Im all for sellingn stories, but Pete made himself out to be 'non materialistic' and all hippy like, and happy.

This kind of indecisiveness is ludicrous. Pete shouldn't of said he loved her, made such a big deal about her, and snog her for a few days before going off her, it's not on. If you think treating women like that is alright then I feel for the women in your area (or maybe men)

Well until you have been in love you'll never know!
Theres different kinds of love anyway, Pete can't help who he falls in love with, just like no one can, Simon was right, why should he stay with Nikki if he's not in love with her anymore? That would just be silly. He did the right thing by splitting up with her, Nikkis just making a huge deal out of it, She needs to move on with her life, Like Pete is trying to do!

I did love Pekki, I was gutted that they split. But Pete and Cherry do have a history from what I've heard, so as I mentioned previously there probably is a lot more to the whole break-up. So I feel neither Nikki nor Pete are to blame in the sense that we just can't take sides unless you disliked one or the other before; I personally loved them both, still love them both, but they obviously just weren't compatible.

I was never a big fan of him anyway, I agree with the majority of tropical_sunset's opening post.
