It’s the morning after the eviction before, and all is not what it seems in the Big Brother garden...

Housemates have woken to find themselves in a sinister post-apocalyptic world where food and water is scarse. In two teams, they must compete in a series of challenges to survive and escape the wildnerness.

Who will make it back to the safety of the House? Only one thing is for certain, it's the end of the world as they know it.

Why on earth would you need to be more subtle when advertising for exposure, it completely defeats the purpose..this could bring a lot of interest because the movie is just about to be released, according to some sites the BB eye is actually in the movie trailer which could mean a premiere again at the house (only been done once before iirc?) or could just mean this task I suppose but the twitter hash tags for the movie connected to BB could also bring more interest.

More interest is always a good thing.

Yeah it definitely appeared. I saw it for the first time last night as I watched live last nigh so had to watch the adverts where usually I would fast forward them and it confused me as to why it was in the advert. I presumed it was something to do with the Armageddon week but that still doesn't make sense so to show it for the sake of a task is a bit weird. But maybe the makers of planet of the apes think them doing a task will get more people to go and watch it therefore they thank bb by letting them show the eye in the trailer? Also it was obvious in the disco party they were promoted Nile Rodgers new various artists album disco inferno. It did actually make me want to buy it!

The Big Brother 2014 housemates are set to live in the garden this week for a new task.



The post-apocalyptic challenge is another Product Placement deal with new film Dawn of The Planet Of The Apes.

The housemates awoken this morning to find that surviving in the Big Brother house had become just that little bit more harder.

Split into two teams, the housemates must take on a series of survival challenges in order to win their way back into the safety of the house.

For each of the two games played, the winning team gets to choose Housemates that can re-enter the main house. The other Housemates must spend the remainder of the task in the garden.

The tasks for today include…



FOOD SCAVANGING
When the Housemates first enter the garden, there will be food hidden that they must scavenge and eat. The Housemates must work with their team so that they can survive the wilderness. Food will include:
*Dried insects in cling film and green tissue paper – these will also be labelled
*Hard boiled egg in a fake bird’s nest
*Fruit hidden in trees
*Nuts in a coconut shaped bowl
*Large water bottles.

SEWAGE RELAY
Two Housemates will stand under a large sewage pipe that is pumping out dirty, brown coloured water. Amongst the water, different size fish will fall that the Housemates must catch. While this is happening, spurts of water will also be released from pipes surrounding the Housemates, covering them in ‘dirty’ water. The team of the Housemate that collects the most fish in the given amount of time wins.

SINKING FEELING
Throughout the day a pile of scrap/junk has been in the garden. Amonst this are pieces of cardboard, polystyrene, and water bottles. There will first be a race to grab the best buoyancy materials for your team. Teams can then use their survival kit (scissors, rope and gaffer tape) to create a raft. The aim is to create a raft that will hold the weight of one team member on the pool for the longest period of time.

When one team’s raft is in the pool, the others can try and make it sink by throwing buckets of water, and using the materials around them to create waves in the pool. The team’s raft that stays afloat for the longest wins.

Dawn of the Planet of the apes is made by paramount pictures which is owned by Viacom the new owners of C5.
Make of that what you will.

I doubt it will bring extra attention. The teaser which features the eye logo is only shown on 5. The ones shown on other channels don't have the eye.

But it could show what they could do in future with Viacom owning it, they might try a little harder with advertising.

Ashleigh Coyle and Danielle McMahon are leading two teams in a bid to win their way back into the house.

Ashleigh’s team is made up of Mark Byron, Helen Wood, Ash Harrison and Steven Goode.

While on Danielle’s line up are Chris R Wright, Christopher Hall, Kimberly Kisselovich, Marlon Wallen and Winston Showan.

Firstly the two groups had to forage for food to eat for the day before catching fish in a disgusting sewage pipe.



For the last task of today, the two teams had to build one man rafts for their team captains.

After the first set of survival challenges, Ashleigh’s team were declared the winners and as a result, chose Ashleigh, Helen and Steven to return to the house.

The remaining housemates will spend the night in the garden with the task continuing tomorrow night.
