Viacom Take Over!

I was just wandering if anybody is aware that today is Viacom's take over of Channel 5. Now I'm sure little will change in BB and CBB from what we're used to, but are they likely to have any input in the rest of this series or the next? After all.. most of the employed people will be the same.. but I'm just curious if they'll be told to direct the show in a certain way over the coming weeks?

I doubt anything will change this series or in CBB, as most plans will have been finalised by now. Viacom will probably take a few months to announce a show renewal (or axe), then it will take a few more months until we learn of any major changes they make to the format or the show.

Other stations they own dont instill me with much confidence in it being less chavvy or less trashy than it is with Dick Desmond as owner.

It's entirely possible, considering the amount of stations they own a bit of live feed will not make a dent in their pockets unlike Desmond's.

Update on Reuters - EU merger and European Commission deadline has been extended but no date given. I'm not too sure what this means as I'm not familiar with the process, but I'm guessing this means that the takeover date is being pushed back. Although it does say withdrawn june 20th?!

No as far as we know Power Trip is the last civilian series and the summer CBB is the last celebrity series

I think they will axe it or at least rest it for a couple of years. They might just have CBB, as the civilian one has dismal ratings.
