Ah Toy Story 3 was such a great ending to it too :(

Beastie

Yes I think it's near enough confirmed of what I have seen on the internet. I thought the third had a good ending to it too. But if it makes money... they are not going to stop.

It's like Frozen. That film has made over a BILLION world wide. Would not be surprised if there was a number 2.

I doubt it will ever happen, Toy Story 3 was a natural conclusion to the series and Pixar aren't that keen on sequels to begin with.

"The Pixar chief who changed the animation game with his innovative use of computer technology in 1995’s Toy Story will return to the directing chair to make a fourth movie about the adventures of Woody, Buzz, and the gang, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger has announced..
The film is set to hit theaters in June 2017. “John created Toy Story and directed the first two films, and it’s great to have him back directing one of our most valuable properties,” Iger said, revealing the news in a quarterly earnings call for investors late Thursday afternoon."

Just ****ing why? The ending was perfect.

i was dreading this, how dare they tbh. It was risky doing a 3rd one imo and i was amazed at the quality of the 3rd film, like many have said already, it ended perfectly. I doubt i'll watch it but who knows?

I had an inkling that they were going to do this simply because the first 2 films grossed 856 million dollars and the 3rd film grossed more than the first and second films combined, grossing over $1 billion. It was the first animated film to have crossed the $1 billion mark so making a 4th one doesn't surprise me because they are obviously trying to cash in, but it does really annoy me :(

I'd rather just pretend the franchise ended at 3 then have it sullied with what looks to be a desperate cashgrab entry.

i'm looking forward to it. i think it's unnecessary and maybe it'll end up being awful but i see this more of an 'epilogue'. toy story 3 will always be the definitive end for toy story 4, but it's nice to see my childhood films (maybe nostalgia playing a factor, but early pixar films had such charm with their lyrics and songs among other things - and they're still present in today's pixars films tbf) being revisited

definitely a cash grab and the story really couldve (and probably has, really) ended with toy story 3 but for me it'll be nice to see the toys go on more adventures even if they're a bit stale. like idk I never went to the cinema a lot as a kid and i definitely never saw any 'kids' films besides maybe like, the guardians film (w/ jack frost and australian easter bunny) and a christmas carol (which was ****ing frightening so hard pass) and i never liked them so i watched all the disney films i loved at home. it's gonna be nice to just sit down in a cinema and see some of my fave characters on the big screen!

Ant.

I've been thinking about this recently but I really hope Toy Story 4 has a nice original song!

Toy Story 1 and 2 had a few but the ones that stick out are "You've Got a Friend in Me" from TS1 and "When She Loved me". Other Pixar films (namely Monsters Inc's "If I Didn't Have you") have had similar touching songs (Coco had some beautiful songs, but in a different way that wouldn't work in Toy Story and vice versa) but Toy Story 3 only gave us... one forgettable song which I had to Google, and that was outshadowed by the Spanish cover of "You've Got a Friend in Me" </3

Basically I'm hoping we get a song similar and emotional to some of the songs in Pixar films in the earlier days. I wanna walk out the cinema wanting to go home to listen to whatever song they wrote for the film :flutter:

I also think it had a better message than the 3rd film!

JerseyWins
26-06-2019, 05:36 AM
Ok I liked it but it was definitely the worst of the 4 and after all the hype it made it kinda disappointing. They might as well should've just ended it after the 3rd one as it had more of a "finish" feel and was also just flat out a much better movie. :suspect:

Complaints:

It was too much of a feel-good movie, like to the point it didn't even have any legit suspenseful struggles. It felt like any "danger" wasn't actually much of a threat, no major sweat. There was no real villain (the little girl doll was technically the villain???). Soooo many of the original Toy Story characters that the show is based on were barely showcased at all --- felt like just a lot of extras. It dragged on taking MULTIPLE trips to the boutique shop which in the end had a very anti-climactic climax. :joker: The ending was weak imo... it should've had more emotion in it and just in general that choice of an ending felt more like a cliffhanger for a 5th movie than anything. I feel like they might as well make one more now

Some of the new characters were good though :clap1: In particular the bunny/duck voiced by Key & Peele!

It might sound like I hated the movie but I didn't; the comedy saved it. I also did like some of the story and some of the buildup (more-so early on). First half was better than second half of the movie imo. It had its moments so I'll still say it was a decent/good watch, enjoyable enough, just not up to par for Toy Story really. :(

Braden

This was cute, but it didn't hold a candle to the other three. Didnt fail to make me cry, though. However, nothing will beat the third. The message to that one came at such an apt time and I was a complete mess, haha.
