..anyway, maybe a little bit of a controversial opinion but I always find it funny that so much attention is placed on infracting/banning etc when it comes to moderating because I always think it's more about trying to prevent those things by 'curbing/calming' ...baiting/trolling/volatile situations etc so that those sanctions aren't necessary/but obviously are at times unavoidable...I know that must be hard on season because there is so much going on and so many threads...anyway, having extra and new moderators will help and I haven't personally found the BB section too bad this year anyway...

..since I've been here there have only been two moderators appointed so it's probably time for some more to be appointed...as I think that 'new blood' and bringing something new to the team and the forum id just as important as keeping 'old blood' that keeps the consistency and ethos of TiBB..but also, it is a fairly thankless job so must be hard to sustain a level of the same enthusiasm long term/as well as having an actual life as well/darn mods...for me, if I was choosing, I would say 'the interest of the forum' would be the main thing that would be necessary, which may seem obvious but I don't think it's something everyone could bring...I could throw a few names out there who I think would be great mods but I won't because that would only be personal preference but I will mention one person...Shaun..and that's only because he himself has said he's offered to help/other than that I have no idea who has applied...there is so much he has done/does do for the forum to keep it ticking along at times when it's needed and that isn't for his own gain/agenda..it's only with thought of the forum and members...so I hope that his name will be green soon..ok, enough because I don't like him that much anyway but am prepared to suffer him....

...I guess these will be announced while I'm at work so just good luck to everyone who has applied and I look forward to seeing our new housemates later...

I think a mod does need to have an edge to them but I prefer the mods who listen and who try to understand the problems when they arise rather than impulsively taking action.

I don't feel I have any qualities to be one because I am,not soft, but against any kind of dictatorial responses.

Just about all the mods don't engage in being dictatorial generally but a great deal of sensitivity can be needed as they are not dealing with people who are all alike, except that all are members,therefore needing to understand where someone is coming from in a situation is paramount.

As I said earlier in this thread, only 2 have been made since I joined,Kerry and MTVN,who along with other mods, they instantly showed they were reasonable, fair and listening mods.
Of course they are overseeing members and threads and have to ensure rules are stuck to too but it is the mods who are also,in the main 'one of the members', who are the ones who gain the greatest respect in my view.

I am looking forward to learning who the new mod/s are,for me overall we have good mods on here and they got it perfectly right last time with Kerry and MTVN so I am very hopeful they will do so again.
For the good of the forum and also us, as the members too.
