View Full Version : Does anyone else kinda want this to be the last season of BBUK?

Daniel.

In a way, I kind of do - it's just not the same anymore.

This season has been terrible and so was BB12, BB14 was average. I think 15 seasons might be enough:shrug:

No, I think it's been a great series so far.
Every year has highs & lows.
It's been a part of my summer for so many years.
I would hate for it to end.

I think a rest is long overdue, but I wouldn't want it to end forever. I'd say it should rest for a few years tbh

I don't get the hate for this series, I am enjoying it and with new housemates coming in it should make it better

BB15 > BB10, BB14, BB12, BB11

Let's hope it's not axed next year.

How about no?

Don't jump on me just because my opinion is different to yours.

If I stopped watching for a few years the show would still be the same when I started watching it again, but if it rested for a few years it might improve when it comes back on and be different to what we have now.

I've not been watching BB15, I needed a break from the excessive 3 series per year. Obviously I don't want the show to be cancelled, I'm still a fan and plan on watching next year, but equally I'm at the point now where BB is just the same as any other show to me and I wouldn't really care if it did get axed.

I was thinking a couple of nights ago that I actually hope it's the last main series because I don't care enough or enjoy the show enough to keep up with an episode every night anymore.

But I know that if it is renewed that I wouldn't be able to resist tuning in and then probably getting hooked.

So for my own sanity I'd like it to be the last because the show is long overdue a rest, it should've had one when it ended on channel 4. But the thoughts of BB15 being the one we end on hurts me too.

I think this series is getting better now, and I'm enjoying it more than I did when it first started. I think it would just be better to get rid of summer CBB. Keep January's CBB at 27 days like the series just gone, and the summer BB at 71 days.

Mystic Mock

Ch5 only seem to care about CBB, Civilian BB just gets a bunch of annoying twats most of the time on Ch5 and all the contestants care about is showmances.

i dont think it should be.
all it needs is some decent production and consistency, that would be a start !!!

i simply cannot believe they brought back Vote To Evict, whilst also making it up as they go along on who/how many housemates should be up each week. i just dont think it fits in with modern BB anymore.

i would just be very strict with the casting, make sure there is an extremely diverse cast, from the 'villain types', the 'models', the 'freaks', and the ''normal'' people.

the rules would be laid out for the series. 3 housemates with the most votes up every week, vote to SAVE.

also ZERO outside contact.

it really isnt a difficult concept to grasp though channel 5 seem to have difficulty for some reason.

13-07-2014, 01:56 PM
No,I wouldn't want it to be the last or even the beginning of the end of them.
However they really need to look at the selection process and ensure a good mix of backgrounds and ages are selected.

Of course arguments can be entertaining and it would be impossible to put 14 people or more in ahouse and there not be those who couldn't stand each other.
Some things though need to be left alone, noms for instance, fine to have some face to face and also diary room but no manipulation of same.
Far more challenging and longer tasks too, take the show back to some basics.

Of course have the odd twist or two but not competely swamp a series with the things to the point where not only the housemates likely are the only ones who haven't a clue what they are about.

Stop so many special dinners, parties and other treats, make it a survival process of energy and minds, maybe then more variation of entertainment will be forthcoming and more housemates will be able to make their mark quicker.

Also finally, have reserve housemates, anyone who asks to leave, gets shown the door right away and a reserve goes in.
Get that sort of whingeing and moaning out of the way altogether.

if they pick people like they did this series and give free passes on launch night to scumbags then i,ll be glad for it to end.
but with new housemates they might just save this series if they get rid of the evil one
were see.
hopefully next one will be better. the last 2 or 3 bb's were some of the best. this one is bottom. i wouldn't axe a show on one series. when the 2 before were 2 of the best

People who want it taken off for good or just a few years are selfish. Lots of people still really enjoy the show and look forward to it.

If people think it has changed or got dull just stop watching it and let those who enjoy it keep enjoying it.

Toya is overrated too, why are people treating her like she did anything significant? she was a good house mate but she ain't no Makosi.

No I don't want it to end, just because this series hasn't been so great but I will add is getting better, doesn't mean next years will be bad. All depends on who goes in

Marsh.
13-07-2014, 02:39 PM
I'd happily burn the house down after this summer just to force them to go somewhere new.

The place looking the same every year adds to the feeling of "seen it all before". The whole things need entirely refreshing, the cast, the look, the format etc etc.

The eviction show's could do with a serious overhaul.

Because nothing interesting has happened since Toya left
Not trying to be negative, but could your disillusionment be because your favourite HM got evicted? Can the whole show because you don't agree with the result?

BB is fine. I don't agree with alot of C5s choices. I believe that they operate under a different mandate. But its still a fascinating program, that brings out real passion in its fans.

The problem with a show that has been running for 15 years is originality. It also suffers from fan demands. Everybody thinks they know best, yet no one can agree on what would make it "better".

Enjoy BB while it lasts. It will come to an end soon enough and then people will complain and ask why its gone.

How would people switching off help the show?

Most of the fans who are angry with what BB has become are people that have watched and stuck with it from the very start. They've been loyal to the show and now the production team are treating those loyal fans with contempt.

If all those fans who are not happy switched off then the show would be scrapped.

I have been drifting away more than ever lately and yeah, I reckon it was due a break when it ended with Channel 4 as well. Just can't help myself from feeling deja vu as virtually everything as Marsh said needs an overhaul... there's nothing fresh or original about it any more.

And also with the low ratings I wouldn't be surprised if it's completely off-air within the next year or two.

My prob with this Season is, too much 'domineering' by certain characters. Namely Pauline, Helen..to a lessor Ash, Steven. Helen getting the pass to the final, is a major backfire, to my mind. She's a 'good' villain for 2-3 weeks. But, 10 weeks is way too much!! ..they desperately need 'fresh blood', i'm glad 3 are goin in. in truth, probably would've been better to boot 3-4..and stick in 6 newbies for a whole new 'dynamic'.

I dont want to see it end but it has to change now they have taken it down a dead end and they need to take it back to what first made it a success and go from there.

No. Im loving this series. Ive been really enjoying it and it looks like its about to get even better with Armageddon week. I wouldnt have thought they ratings should affect it too much either - the only reason for the low ratings is the world cup. It happens every four years.

This series just isn't good. At all. And I'm not saying that as a bitter Toya fan. Helen/Steven/the lads who call themselves ~true entertainers~ are all pretty much on the same level of worst HM of the series, Christopher is pathetic and causes way too much secondhand embarrassment for me to handle, Kimberly has slowly but surely turned not good, and Chris and Mark don't do much for me. That leaves Ashleigh and Danielle, who aren't even that good in the role of leading protagonists like Deana and Gina were.

Everyone is just amazingly unappealing and nasty and vindictive. They're all set on destroying each other's reputations so it's just a miserable atmosphere lacking in some humor.

Shaun

I do think we have a tendency to compare each new series and its housemates with those who've appeared before so maybe we all just subconsciously write people off as "another Rex" or "another Charley" or whatever (not that either housemate has a counterpart in this series)... I think the same happens with every long-running show, everyone misses the glory days and just carries on watching through habit rather than actually must-see TV.

For me I watch mostly just because of how often I use this website... there're too many creative decisions on the show that have forced it away from being something fun to watch, beyond your usual shock-evictions or twists. Everything's a bit too forced now. Producers try to create drama rather than document what actually happens organically.
