It's all a changing among the big guns, Ken Clarke to leave the cabinet and Hague is standing down as foreign secretary but staying as leader of the commons. Shame to see Clarke go but good to hear Hague won't be the main man in foreign affairs anymore

I found William Hague going a shocker but Ken Clarke and his pro EU views was never going to be that welcome in the next election.
He could cause a lot of bother from the backbenches however for David Cameron.

There will be a fair few teachers celebrating the news that Gove is out.

Time Clarke was put out to pasture as well.

Nicky Morgan will be a disaster in Education in my opinion, Whatever he gives to Esther Mcvey, I hope it isn't prominant as I find her totally condescending.

Sadly, it's not that great a change, we are still left with an uncaring Chancellor, the worst Home Secretary we have likely ever had and still in place is the vilest policitian in parliament at present, the ruthless and heartless arrogant Ian Duncan Smith.

This re-shuffle doesn't fill me with any hope for the next 9 months,it makes a case for more despair for those who are the weakest and poorest and most vulnerable.
It has taken him over 4 years to decide to advance a small number of more women to top positions.
Desperation comes to mind for me as to this re-shuffle not admiration for it.

Good , about time. maybe we will get a British Foreign Secretary that puts the interests of Britain above the interests of the US.

Shocking excuse for a Foreign Secretary , a complete poodle talking only to publicly announce support any/all pronouncements made by the US.

Just feels like pre election tokenism really especially with the Gove change. Like him or hate him he's been pretty radical in his time as education secretary, the government have obviously supported him in that for the lions share of their time in government but now 9 months before the election they decide they want a change, and a change to someone who is unlikely to really do anything that major? Especially when Nicky Morgan is staying in her post as women's secretary or whatever, what does it say about the importance of that post that it can apparently be juggled with something so important and something that will take up so much time as education?

Yes its pre election moves
plus hague wanted out of that job himself

Also for me, his biggest mistake is not moving Grant Schapps too, he has really been a disaster in that important role he was given a couple of years back.
He never seems on top of the topic in hand at all.

He dare not Kizzy, it was rumoured he wanted to see about moving this awful man from works and pensions at his last re-shuffle but that Ian Duncan Smith would have refused to go anddo another post so then would have likely been a real pain for David Cameron if not in the Cabinet.

For me the fact Ian Duncan Smith remains in his post removes any thoughts that this Govt has changed at all,in fact it strengthens my view that despite these minor changes, the Govt; this Cabinet and the Prime Minister are as rotten, arrogant and heartless as ever and no way should they be trusted with Governing.

I don't know how the human centipede that is the conservative party function but why would IDS cause probs for cameron if ousted?
Is there bad blood?

That I cannot say, however there were rumours that David Cameron wanted to move him from work and pensions last time but the feeling was Ian Duncan Smith refused to go to any other post, that would have meant Cameron would have had to in effect remove him.

The fact he caved in and left him in place and has again this time despite all the warnings and problems that are happening to this benefit changes, would indicate this former leader Ian Duncan Smith maybe is a hard man to deal with.
Also Ian Duncan Smith is in the main the architect of these vile welfare reforms too,his ideas, his way.
He is determined to acheive his aim of creating misery against those most vulnerable.
So from the backbenches could be a real thorn in a serving PM's side.

How anyone like Ian Duncan Smith, with the heartlessness and total dismissive attitude he has towards those in the greatest need,is even in Parliament, never mind be a Cabinet Minister, astounds me.
He should have been thrown on the political scrapheap when the Conservatives dumped him very sharply as their leader, never allowing him to even fight one election for them as leader.

Very hard to be positive at all as to this Govt and this useless PM. As for Esther McVey, she is fine until she opens her mouth, then she becomes a massive turn off.
