Why do people feel the need to be in a "clan"?

TiBB is open to all and sundry. Personally, if I was a new member, this sort of "clan" could apear as a clique and be very off putting.

Obviously people talk on MSN and have friends on the board but to create a clan would be divisive and surely this would be a bad thing and could cause problems.

I can see why people feel the need to form alliances towards housemates, however, I dont see the need to form a group who's aimit it is to "big up" other members. We're all equals on the bored.

Thats ones of the things that makes this board such a special place.

Yeah I understood that concept but personally, having been on other boards before this one, i found this sort of group thing very alienating.

The fact that people are so warm and friendly on this site speaks for itself.
