Does the appearance of housemates have an effect on whether you like or dislike them?
For example on launch night you see a really hot person enter the house and you think they are so beautiful/handsome, would that make you more inclined to start supporting them?
Throughout the years that I've watched BB I have noticed that some people are avid supporters of good looking housemates with no personality, so I am very curious about this.
Who do you think was the best looking housemate this year?

No, not at all. Some of the best looking housemates have been either idiots or complete dullards. This is why I hate the whole 'you clearly like *housemates name* because of how she looks etc' bull****

Yeah, I wouldn't accuse someone of liking a housemate purely for aesthetic reasons unless it's blatantly obvious, but I have seen it happen many times.
I don't think looks have any effect if I like a housemate or not. I thought Ashleigh was hot but didn't like her, but now I do.

I picked Kim as my favorite at first because she was the prettiest but I lost interest in her because of her personality or lack of one. Then I moved on to queen Ashleigh and have been perfectly happy ever since!

Looks dont have an effect as such...however I cant lie...I see a blonde twig with gigantic fake boobs giggling her way into the house, or a musclebound tanned guy strutting his way in with a pout...and I expect not to like them as I would expect them to be total airheads/up themselves. I give them a chance though...which is why I tend to not pick faves til around week 2.

On launch night, definitely, yes. As the weeks go on no, because you get to see and understand housemates personalities more and can come to fairer conclusions on whether the like them or not.
People say looks mean nothing although realistically that's what you judge someone on when you first see/meet them.

I did with Danica because she's so flawless. :flutter:
The thing my fave hm's have in common is whether they make me laugh rather than their looks.

I voted that looks do have an effect for me, but tbf my favourites haven't always been the best looking imo so I dunno.. I'd lie if I said looks have NO effect at all, maybe initially i care but then i end up not doing so

Nope. Always drawn to the personality, but it seems I always end up finding them attractive at some point during the show. I've only watched 3 Big Brother's and this has happened with all of my favourite housemates (Tim from BBAus 2005, Dexter BB14, Chris BB15). It doesn't help that I find most housemates very unattractive anyway. Sometimes I'll make a judgement initially (what am I supposed to base it on when I don't know them?), and subconsciously their appearance may affect some opinions, but generally it's not a factor.
..I can honestly say no, it always takes me quite some time to choose a favourite because I need to see their personalities develop and this time I still haven't got an out and out favourite as such although Chris would probably come closest with Ashleigh second....physical attractiveness is funny anyway because for me it diminishes with a poor and 'ugly' character and grows with a more beautiful character....it really is what is on the inside that shines outside...

I like the housemates I am attracted to the most. Can be attracted to their inner soul or their outer beauty. The housemates I like most are the ones who have both. Emilia is my no1 favourite housemate of all time.
Then you can also judge housemates on other criteria such as comedy value and entertainment factor.
If a housemate is funny, great, but if they are nasty, they will score much lower than a housemate who was funny and had a good soul.
For a male housemate, the best are the ones who provide great entertainment in some form or another whilst not being a nasty twat.
Actions taken can have strong influence too.
I judge each housemate as a person before I judge them as a housemate. A lot of people judge it the opposite way round.
