Day 55: Housemates Vs The Internet shopping task

The Big Brother 2014 housemates are going digital in their latest shopping task this week.



Big Brother gathered the group of remaining nine housemates this morning to announce the task.

“For this week’s shopping task, the public will use their Power to interact with you via the Big Brother website and app,” BB explained. “Housemates, it’s you versus internet.”

Over the next two days, housemates will take part in a series of web based tasks which will see them have to accumulate ‘hits’.

In the living area is a giant laptop and attached to the laptop is a USB key: The key contains the amount of hits housemates need in order to pass the task.

The first task saw each housemate have to record their own viral videos, with Big Brother provided each housemate with a series of props from hot sauce and cake to lobster and penguin outfits.



What happened next was up to them!

The videos will be posted online later today with the housemates getting up to 1,000 hits for the task.

And as an extra incentive, the housemate who gets the most individual hits to their video will win a special personal prize.

The task will air from Wednesday night on Channel 5.

Taking on the World Wide Web is a tremendous feat, so Big Brother is kindly offering housemates the opportunity to earn 3,000 hits towards passing this week's Housemates Vs The Internet shopping task.

All they have to do is work a shift on Big Brother's new adult webcam site, Big Boy Webcams. Christopher, Pav and Winston are the lucky three who will be at the mercy of one very special website user, Luisa Zissman, or Queen Luisa as she is known to her webcam minions. To gain the maximum number of hits, our webcam boys must obey her every command, or they shall feel the full wrath of the Zissman.

Earlier today, housemates competed for your Likes in a series of would-be viral videos. There was a Spanish lesson, a dramatic monologue, and, er, well, Helen dressed up as a T-rex.

We posted all of the videos on our Facebook page and asked you to share and Like your faves, and by an overwhelming majority, Ash's mankini dance won. Which meant he earned a special reward from Big Brother...

A bottle of champagne, and his very own mankini, to keep and cherish forever. The mankini got packed away (perhaps to reappear on eviction night?) while the champagne went up to the Pod with Ash and Winston, on their very own man date. Bromantic.

Chris R Wright has denied having a crush on Ashleigh Coyle in Big Brother 2014.



Yesterday evening’s highlights show saw Chris branded ‘creepy’ over his relationship with Ashleigh, with the hashtag ‘Creepy Chris’ even trending on Twitter in the UK.

In the house last night, Chris was confronted this view of him by the public in a new task.

As part of this week’s People Power twist, us viewers have been able to send in questions via Twitter (using the #BBtask hashtag), which had to be answered by the Housemates.

Four housemates – Zoe, Mark, Ash, and Chris – were faced with selected questions from the public an had to HONESTLY discuss and answer the questions that appeared to pass the task.

Big Brother asked: “Chris, why did you tell Pav to stop staring at Ashleigh when everyone knows it’s you that fancies her?”

The question shocked the house, with Chris first explaining his reasons for talking to Pav: “We were given some information from other sources that Pav was infatuated with Ashleigh. ”



He added: “I don’t think he was fully aware he was doing it. He should know. I wouldn’t want to be accused of that or being doing it and not be aware of it.”

Chris went on to say: “I do not fancy Ashleigh, there’s no reason not to fancy Ashleigh but I do not fancy her.”

Ashleigh reacted back in the living area: “It’s a bit strange, he’s like really… he’s 33 years of age.”

Zoe also came under attack following her remarks about ‘Tesco workers’, with one viewer asking why she felt she was above everyone else.

However Zoe revealed she’s worked in shops herself and insisted that she would’ve never said she was above other people.

The BBUK house has turned against Mark Byron after revelations in the latest task.

After the task it seemed that the eyes of the other housemates had been well and truly opened.

Ash confessed: “He reacted so over the top when he really should’ve just had a normal reaction, he was showing off as the Mark we think… I thought ‘You need to stop doing that now’.

“For the first time ever I thought, don’t play up too much.”

Helen agreed: “When I watched him tonight, this is the first point where I thought ‘You have ******ed it with the public’. I think they’ve seen certain things…”

The Big Brother 2014 housemates have to answer some tough questions from viewers on tonight’s show.



Ash, Chris, Mark and Zoe become a human search engine, answering questions from the public in a task.

Ash, is asked “Who would you snog, marry and avoid out of Helen, Ashleigh and Zoe?” Ash says he would snog Helen, Marry Zoe “because she can sing to me for the rest of my life” and avoid Ashleigh

Zoe is asked “Why do you think you’re above people? What is your problem with ‘normal’ people such as those that work in Tesco?” A surprised Zoe responds saying, “I’ve never said that in my life…I’m not even answering that, it’s a load of rubbish” In the living room, Helen shouts at the screen that Zoe is not telling the truth. When Mark defends Zoe, Helen remarks, “Shut up Mark…he looks like a d*ck now”

Big Brother Summer 2014

Mark, is asked “Why do you think being fake and acting dumb is going to win you Big Brother?” An incredulous Mark says he’s “*****ing furious” and denies being fake, stupid or thinking he will win. Ash jokes, “Even though he is going to win Big Brother, he hasn’t got a clue about it!”

Chris is asked “Why did you tell Pav that he has been staring at Ashleigh when everyone knows that it’s you that fancies her?” Chris says that he talked to Pav privately and denies fancying Ashleigh. All the Housemates agree and Ashleigh comments that “this is weird”

In round two, Ash is asked: “If Helen wasn’t there to hide your boringness and back you up, do you think you would still be in the House?” Ash laughs and says that he would have been evicted by now, “because I’m so boring” Helen remarks that it “pissed me off that he gets tarred with me, and me with him”



Zoe is told: “Stop meddling in Ash and Helen’s relationship. Are you jealous of Helen?” Zoe is shocked and suggests that the only person meddling is Big Brother. Helen hides her face in the living area and shouts, “*****ing cringe…I’ve gone red, I never go red” Ash, reads the question and ponders, “What does relationship mean?”

Mark is asked “You accuse Pav of game playing yet you are dragging Christopher along like a toy, picking him up and dropping him. Why?” Mark says that it’s “*****ing disgusting” to accuse him of doing so, admitting that he can “speak to him like sh*t” before adding that he thinks very highly of Christopher and thinks a lot of him

After the task, Zoe talks to Big Brother about the viewer’s questions and her comment towards Tesco workers. Zoe sates she was “really mad” as she’s “not that person” and has “purposely gone my whole life making sure I’ve never once been above myself”

Mark meanwhile tells Christopher that he’s “so upset” by the earlier questions and admits he’s lost people before because he is so “emotionally closed”. Christopher advises him to listen and to “stop defending everybody”. Mark concludes that he thinks “This is my lesson”

Big Brother 2014 airs this evening at 10PM on Channel 5.
