what went wrong with women winners?

Ch 4 started to book a trend with there last 3 winners women while ch5 only men can win and it looks like another male victory this year. And out of the ten series ch5 have down only two woman have won denise welch and charlotte crosby both celeb versions so why dont woman stand a chance winning anymore

I think its down to the type of women they put in the house. C5 seem to think gobby and bitchy = A strong woman. When thats clearly not true.

CBB as a woman can have a pre-existing fan base eg Charlotte CBB was very popular on Geordie Shore with a young female viewership. Denise was a popular on Loose Women watched by....

However on normal BB it's not about pre-existing fanbases (although Zoe does have one). The fact is female behaviour has less room for error. Winston does nothing but is still in line to win as loads of girls fancy him.

Ditto Ash. BB web have put up a revolting pic Ash in a mankini, yet women seem to really like it which equals more votes, Ashleigh wearing a bikini will not win her votes in fact it will inflame jealous women and believe me there have been a few bitter middle aged women on BBOTs who hate Ashleigh. They would have love to have written her off as a young blond bimbo but she's proven to be smart, wiley and a bit of a gameplayer*.

The female HMs have caused 80% of the drama but get 10% of the winners.


*I wish people would stop referring to game playing women as manipulative.

Yep, the women were awful that year. Alex was another pretend thicko. Louise was a real thicko.

I wanted Deana to win her year, or Adam. But of course the sentimental audience voted for the transgendered person that cried a lot in the end.

Last year... I didn't really like anyone much. I don't think Gina was all that. I was more impressed with Hazel to be hoenst.

It's because people in general will end up voting for the "nice" inoffensive HM. Any HM with a strong personality will rub as many people up the wrong way as the right way, it's human nature. That's why nice and slightly boring HMs win alot of times, not because women are jealous or whatever else stupid, insulting generalisation people like to throw around

It's a general comment on women, that's all. It doesn't mean every woman is like that. But it is obviously the case that women will gun for other girls on a show like this more than they do men.

I don't know the answer to this one at all, usually it is the female housemaytes who provide the stronger entertainment,re- Deana and Gina recently but also in BB series past too.

I asked 12 female friends of mine, who avidly watch BB,their thoughts as to this and the only answer I got was they always voted for a Male to win anyway.
We don't know how many women and men make up the viewers that vote but if it is more women voting, then if they mostly were like my friends maybe they rarely vote for a female to win.

Gender of a housemate doesn't matter to me at all. As long as they entertain me or have positive qualities, then I'll like them. BB does tend to choose laidback guys and bitchy women though. Almost every female VT has something along the lines of 'I'm upfront and say it to your face' which is code for 'I'm a bitch who likes to put others down'.

If more women made it through to the final stages of the show, they would obviously have more chance of winning. What seems to happen, and it was obvious this year, is that women seem to be in all the early controversies and get evicted - and this was largely due to the women themselves, not the men :shrug:

I don't think people do at all. You can see from reading comments posted on FB that what changes peoples opinions is however the show is edited, take Ashleigh for example, when she was being portrayed as a "baddie" the majority of the comments were negative towards her with alot of "you girls are just jealous bitches" thrown in here and there. Then she starts getting better edits and suddenly the majority of comments are positive with a whole lot of "Ashleigh to win" in there........Ashleigh is a stunning girl and woooooo lots of women like her now???? wat wat??? :hehe:

Sam winning over Gina ffs what a pisstake she would have made an amazing winner and would have made a half decent z z z z z lister. We need a winner that is memorable and kind of an ambasedor for the show till the next series like back in the day.
