These piers tend to go up like Roman candles due to the fact that they are primarily made of wood and since the air can be drawn up from underneath the pier they burn very quickly.
Should be able to be restored.

Yes the Wood
stated within a wall - so could be Dodgy Electrics
But by the Sea
you would think a Water Power Pump
should be piped in to stop major fires.

That Fire started behind
Hidden panels
Typical rebuilt over rotten bits, over the years.
The Fire Service should have
have been told about old panels from years ago
so they could pass them as safe
This is all so typical
Private Run Pier
most on that section had not got insurance
as it was due to start soon.
