I think a lot of the very religious countries are a little scary.

Like in Nigeria (correct me if I'm wrong) that terrorist attack where people were killed if they couldn't recite certain religious prayers... can you imagine how scary that would be?

I read some book last year called Lost In Shangri La set just after WW2 about some plane crashing into some uncharted land filled with savage cannabal tribesmen, and I think it was based on a true story and it happened in new Guinea so I'll go for that

Yep, they asked them to recite stuff from the koran and whoever didn't know any of it was killed, I think they did it to only the men though.

And yea it's places like that that scare the hell out of me. Even the likes of India & Pakistan, it seems like going back to the dark ages if you visit the wrong part of those countries.

I wouldn't be afraid of going to the likes of china or russia, same with most of north & south america, although I've heard mexico is really dangerous in parts.

Also one day I would love to see the pyramids, but visiting egypt seems a bit risky now.
