I can buy that Ash is intelligent but lazy... In other words he chooses not to use it and is happy to coast through life in blissful ignorance.

Then again, they probably used the quick "pop quiz" IQ tests you get online, not a full on mensa test. So the results are questionable in absolute terms. They should still be accurate for "ranking" though, I suppose.

He scored 89, not 98... And I would argue that people with average intelligence are a bit thick :joker:.

However, to answer the question above, yes you could easily fake an IQ test to deliberately score low. Not the other way around, though.

Mark does like to play dumb, e.g. The whole psychic thing (he blatantly doesn't actually believe it) so I wouldn't be surprised if he deliberately fudged a few questions.

Ash has shown he is intelligent several times. Couple of examples are during the build a raft task. They won that task because of Ash. Second example is the viral video task, he knew exactly what to do to get a video to go viral and won with ease. If Ash was a character on the Walking Dead he would be one of the survivors.
