View Full Version : When will people start talking about Ash as a possible winner?

He is the dark horse and has been for weeks. Nobody ever says "Ash could win". I've said seen anyone mention him at all.
1. He survived against Matthew when he was 1/20 to be evicted. The Ash fanbase saved Ash by evicting Matthew.
2. Ash is more popular now than he was back then.
3. Ash has a fanbase and it is real.
4. If Helen is evicted 5th/4th, a fair amount of Helen fans will give Ash a few votes, increasing his fanbase even further.
5. He won the viral video task by a considerable margin. The majority of likes may well have been from neutrals, but how many were from Ash fans? We don't know. Ashleigh and Winston got the 2nd highest amount of likes. Majority of likes for Ashleigh were from her fans, because her video was cute, but not great. Winston got less despite his video being funny.
6. I find it odd that over past few weeks everyone is saying Winston, Winston, because he is funny at times, but Ash has been just as funny over past few weeks. Why Winston but not Ash from the "alphas"?

Matthew was evicted mostly due to Ashleigh.

I think Ash has a lot of supporters they are just not so verbal,he could easily sneak up when least expected and snatch that crown:hehe:
Smudgie normally says Ash could win.
I can't see it myself but it would be good if he did IMO

Hes in my top 3 for winning but I think his connection with Helen will let him down. Most people would rather he won than Winston though.
Will.

Never
Winston's polling double that on tellymix.
You seem to think the polls stand for everything when they are really a minority of the viewing public not to mention the actual voters.

In the final it is all down to
Number of fans x average number of votes per fan = TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTES
Housemate A has 20,000 fans who vote on average 5 times each = 100,000 total vote count.
Housemate B has 10,000 fans who vote on average 20 times each = 200,000 total vote count.
Housemate C has 40,000 fans who vote on average 2 times each = 80,000 total vote count.
It is not just a case of who has the most fans.

Sadly for Ash i think he fits into that category of HM that slips through the net
He is ok sure enough but he doesn't inspire enough passion of love or hate in the viewer
So i don't think he'll pick up many votes to win as he is more 'liked' than 'loved'
Neither will he pick up the 'anti vote' in the vein of Aaron, Speidi or Dexter as he is not a love/hate figure either. This is where Helen will do better than Ash in the final running i think.
5 years from now when you try and remember all the BB contestants from 2014, Ash will be one of the ones you remember last. Nothing bad on the guy but he is just one of those HMs you will end up going 'oh yeah i forgot about him!'

They've been a reasonably good indicator over the years. Sam was topping both tellymix and BB Spy last year. Charlotte was still topping many of them. Jim Davidson was miles clear (with Luisa's support being overstated). The only one they got wrong was Deana, but that was when DS went a bit crazy with her.
I think Ash has a lot of supporters they are just not so verbal,he could easily sneak up when least expected and snatch that crown:hehe:
What odds would you like ?? He has 2 chances .... slim & none 😄😄😄

His odds are excellent for a dark horse. He is 35/1 at the moment on Betfair.

If he was a dark horse - but he ain't he's just a boring git that made up the numbers - total no hoper as he's done very little , and he'll have the excuse that being friend's with Helen ruined his chance ! but thats the only reason he's still there. He is sooo boring :joker::joker:

I created the thread!
I am using Ashleigh, the current favourite, to try and show how its not beyond the realms of possibility that Ash could win BB.
The voting figures are much lower than they were in previous series. A strong fanbase can make a big difference.

A definition of "dark horse"
a person, animal, or thing that competes in a race or other contest and is not expected to win

I know who created the thread it's just getting beyond boring seeing certain people bring certain housemates up in threads that aren't about them.

I really like Ash now and would like to see him win, he could well be the dark horse of the series as Achilles said and sneak the win.
For me, that would be a well deserved win too.

When will people start talking about Ash as a possible winner?
When he actually does something. I don't think lounging around after taking excessive 'handsome lessons' is enough.
maybe Ash and Winston share the same voting pool, which ends up getting split between them, allowing someone else to sneak in. I can't call it
