Big Brother has just announced this week’s big twist, involving both nominations and the prize fund.

http://bigbrother.channel5.com/sites/default/files/styles/article_hero/public/task_6.jpg?itok=x7w_cPsH

Over the two days, housemates will be given the chance to win a further £25,000 which will be added onto the £100,000 prize fund.

Nominations twist

In this hit, one Housemate will join the other Housemates who have currently been nominated to face the public vote. A Perspex box will be placed in the House with 3 gold envelopes inside it.

This number will reflect the number of Housemates who are not currently up to face the public vote – Ash, Ashleigh and Chris. Each envelope will contain a monetary value; one containing £1000, one containing £5000, one containing £10,000.

Ash, Ashleigh and Chris will each draw an envelope. Once everyone has drawn an envelope, the Housemates who already face the public vote must choose one of these three Housemates to join them in nomination.

Whichever Housemate they choose will also face the public vote. The monetary value inside each envelope is then allocated to the Housemate that drew it.. Whatever the monetary value of the Housemate who has been chosen to face the public vote will be added to the prize fund.

E.g. If they choose Ash to face the public vote, and Ash’s envelope says £5000, then £5000 will be added to the prize fund.

Helen’s Salon

Winston and Ash are given the chance to earn some money for the prize fund. In the Garden a salon chair will have been set up. Winston and Ash can elect to add to the prize fund if they allow Helen to give them Helen’s Special Haircut, the same haircut Helen has given to Christopher and Mark in the past. Winston and Ash will be provided with visual reminders of exactly what Helen’s Special Haircut consists of. If they choose to have the haircut, they will add the money to the prize fund.

Family Temptation

Big Brother is willing to give the Housemates an amount of money to add to the winner’s prize fund. The three Housemates who did not receive their letters from home (Mark, Chris, Christopher) will be given the opportunity to spend time with one of their family members.

One by one, each Housemate will be called to the Diary Room. Whilst here, they will be able to see on the screen that one of their family members is downstairs in the Family room. They are told that they can go down and spend some time with their family member.

However, as soon as each Housemate enters the Family Room, the money available will start counting down, e.g. for every second spent with their family member, £20 will be taken off the total that will be added to the totaliser.

Once in the Small Task Room, there will be no clock/money count down so that the Housemate in there will not know how long they have been or how much money they have spent. One Housemate can spend the whole time in the Family Room, using all the money. Alternatively, they can try and split the time between all three Housemates so they all get equal time with their family member. Or, alternatively, they can all choose to spend no time with their family member, resulting in the full amount being added to the totaliser.

The task will continue tomorrow in the house.

TiBB Frontpage Article

Josy has posted a new TiBB frontpage article.

We previously posted that this week was 'The Power of Money' (http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/bigbrother15-2014/news-259884/power-of-money.html) and also that we thought this could have an effect on the four recent nominees (http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/bigbrother15-2014/news-260236/nomination-results.html)..

http://pictures.thisisbigbrother.com/userpics/24444/pom.jpg

Twist has now been announced and will work as follows..

Housemates are given the chance to add an extra £25,000 to the total prize fund.

I think they will choose Chris to join them facing eviction.

I don't think either Ash or Winston will allow Helen to touch their hair.

Not sure about the family member thing, Maybe Mark will go for it?

It's better than a save and replace I suppose, since it means Mark will still be up, but yeah they'll probably go for Chris :( After Rylan's "Chris isn't currently up" comment I guess this was designed just to get Chris up.

CaudleHalbard
05-08-2014, 11:59 AM
It keeps getting more and more ridiculous. I think even Emma and Rylan are getting pissed off with all the interference.

They desperately needed to sack the current bunch of producers and get a new lot in.

BB16's tagline needs to be "Big Brother - Old School"

Totally agree with you

I am getting really fed up of the producers manipulating events so they can get rid of Chris and Ashleigh. There is no way that they will choose Ash, so again one of my favourites will be up. They did not show all of the"grooming " clip which showed just how uncomfortable both of them were and they did not show Ashleigh saying that this could make Chris look creepy at the beginning of the task.

Fed up does not even come close.

It's not much of an incentive though is it?

Double the prize fund or take it up to a quarter of a million and they'd be more likely to want to increase it. But a piddly 5 grand here and there for a haircut, they won't do it.

Or maybe Winston will, but not Ash with his long hair.

The family member one looks interesting. I wonder if one of them stays in there for ages.

and it's a double

Chris R Wright has been nominated in today’s Big Brother 2014 twist, leaving five up for the chop.

Yesterday saw face to face nominations with Christopher, Pav, Mark and Winston getting the most votes.

But today Big Brother revealed a new ‘Power of Money’ twist, giving the housemates the chance to add up to £25,000 to this year’s prize fund with a series of tasks and twists over the next two days.

This afternoon, a Perspex box was placed in the House with 3 gold envelopes inside it.

This number reflected the number of Housemates who are not currently up to face the public vote – Ash, Ashleigh and Chris (Helen being immune).

Each envelope contained a monetary value; one containing £1000, one containing £5000, one containing £10,000.

Ash, Ashleigh and Chris each chose an envelope before the Housemates who already face the public vote chose one them to join them in nomination.

Pav, Christopher, Mark and Winston conceded that Ash and Ashleigh were the least likely to go but named Chris as he was the only one to have also received a nomination yesterday.

Chris then revealed the number in his envelope to be £10,000, meaning that this year’s Big Brother prize money now stands at a total of £110,000.

But it means that now Chris, Christopher, Mark, Pav and Winston all face eviction Friday.

Oh, and it’s a DOUBLE eviction and all!

Three part to this task

2 Haircuts Ash Winston have to agree to Helen giving them a Christopher hair cut

3 Spend time with family for the Hms who never got their letter.

Oh right, I thought it must've been something else. One of his friends said he was at the BB house so I guess it was that.

They should offer Helen the chance to add some money to the prize fund if she were to give her finalist pass to another housemate.

The BBUK housemates have made a half arsed pact to split any extra prize money they win this week.

Over the next few days it’s the Power of Money twist and the housemates will get the chance to add up to £25,000 to the current £100,000 prize.

After the task was announced the group suggested that they should split the extra money won.

“We can do our best but it’s nothing to get stressed or pissed about,” Chris R Wright said.

Winston Showan told the group: “What we could say if whoever the winner is, divides the 25 grand up between each of us.”

Chris wasn’t too interested however, sighing: “They do this every year…”

But with the other housemates all echoing calls of “I’ll do that,” Chris’ comments fell on deaf ears with Helen Wood declaring: “Let’s make a pact, we make an effort.”

Afterwards, Chris moaned to Ashleigh Coyle: “Now if I do decide not to save my head or whatever people will be pissed off.”

Ashleigh replied: “I will just not being doing it, I’m sorry, if I don’t want to do it, I won’t be doing it.”

Chris agreed: “If anyone’s got a problem with it I’ll just say take me out of the split.”

Ashleigh said: “I don’t really see it [the split] happening, ever, ever ever.

Chris concurred: “It won’t, the best thing to do is just play along. They’ll all be miserable if you didn’t do that.”

“It’s ridiculous, it really truly is,” Ashleigh declared.

The Big Brother 2014 housemates failed every task of yesterday’s prize fund twist.

Big Brother announced to the group that this week was the Power of Money, with the chance to add up to £25,000 to this year’s prize pot.

The housemates half-halfheartedly agreed to split any extra money won between them, but even that deal didn’t seem to encourage them to try.

They won £10,000 as Chris R Wright was put up for nomination in the first twist, although they were always gauranteed to win cash in that part of the task.

Next up, Ash Harrison and Winston Showan were both invited to have a haircut from Helen Wood in return for £1,000 each but both refused.

The group were then challenged to drink a disgusting cocktail, with the more drunk the more money being won for the prize fund, but the group again flopped.

In the final task of the day, the three housemates who had yet to receive messages from home – Chris, Mark and Christopher – got to spend time with their family and friends in the small task room.

The trio had up to £6,000 to add to the prize fund with the amount decreasing the longer they spent with their family and friends.

Chris and Christopher each went in for a quick chat, each spending less than £1,500 of the £6,000 total to leave £3,152 remaining.

Mark however drained ALL of the remaining cash so that none of the original £6,000 was added to the prize fund.

The housemates will get more chances to win cash later today.
